Just wait a bit until the prices on the monitor drop with some competition, just like the 780Ti with the 880 approaching :D

(... at least I hope so hehe)

All depend what you mean by low fps... under 33.3ms ( 30hz ). G-Sync dont "work" anymore... ( it redraw completely the frame a second time ).

Now maybe ULMB can take the relay in this case.

The monitor is ordered. Question is if I'll get it this week or in a month.

Regarding the additional 780Ti, good point about waiting til the prices drop :D

Just wait a couple of years with a new Monitor, untill Adaptive Sync is the standard.

It doesn't require a 150 Dollar G-Sync module, nor a specific GPU. As long as both support DisplayPort 1.2a.

Well all current gpus support dp 1.2a, don't they? At least the next ones should... and if adaptive sync will make it to become the standard is not sure imo, since there are contracts made already for selling gsync... they were faster.

Have you seen an contract which ASUS/BenQ made? Is it prohibiting them from implementing Adaptive Sync?
I don't think so. Intel got pretty big fine over prohibiting manufacturers contractually from using AMD CPUs.
And here it is not even AMD, it is already VESA standard, yes it is optional, but standard.
And I am sure if some manufacturers decide not to use it others will jump into open market space.
I can see 4k TV manufacturers implementing this.
Can you imagine you would be only one who makes Adaptive Sync and all those AMD users wanting your screens?
Too tempting to skip for most manufacturers.

First deal means only chance to inflate prices for a while. And with this screen price is double for what they should ask.

The G-Sync unit is so expensive because it's implemented via FPGA for firmware updates. It can easily be an ASIC board which would reduce the price significantly.

Also there is no word as to whether Nvidia's GPU's currently support variable VBLANK. I think if they did Nvidia would have just said that by now. So if they do eventually want to do freesync it's going to require new hardware on Nvidia's side.

I don't like Adaptive V-sync since it doesn't eliminate the tearing. Tried it a couple of times but the outcome is never satisfying.

Wow... that monitor look just great and all,but I need your help guys.

I want to get a 2560x1440 monitor, but I'm not a hardcore gamer...
I play games like diablo, castle wolfenstein, sniper elite, some shooters and stuff like that.
Should I still go with this monitor or should I go with an IPS and get a maximum picture quality&&
If IPS, give me suggestions please?

And sorry for my grammar, I'm french....

This monitor definitly has an edge over other monitors. It offers Nvidia's newest technology to eliminate stutter, lag and tearing. For gaming, this should be the advantage to go for.

    Compatibility with SLIs GPU

Hi fellas, new guy here. I finally registered after months of stalking the site. But anyways I have 2 Asus 780ti DC2 in SLI. I really want to get this monitor. I have an old dell that's 30HZ (yeah I know). But I saw on a review some guy posted on newegg that he was having problems G-Syncing this monitor with a pair of 780ti in SLI. Is there any truth to this? Or anyone heard of this issue?

Thanks in advance and glad to be here.

Well I don't know about a specific issue with 780's in SLI but there are a lot of issues with G-Sync in general. People's G-Syncs have been dropping with "out of sync" dropping to black and all kinds of weird issues. I've had exactly zero of these problems with my Swift personally.

Regardless ASUS/Nvidia both state that the next driver will fix all these problems specific to the Swift and G-Sync. So pretty much everyone is awaiting on that driver, which will probably release on the 19th with the announcement of the new Maxwell cards.
