Why is Cyberpunk not tested with Ray Tracing disabled anymore?

All the recent reviews I've seen only tested it with RT On.

I love the sheer size of it. It looks beastly but yeah black fans would look so much better than a turd brown.

at least till about 2010, most silent gpu coolers i saw in shops (germany) or online, and used, were zalman or arctic,
and even in the US i had used a couple to swap 1/2 fan coolers with cheap heatsinks (or just to have/better fan control).

Have only used one Noctua so far (silent round case fan), but i never saw the reason to pay 30-50% more,
for ~10-15% gains (vs Arctic), especially since they are quiet enough for me.

Excellent review as always. I like the looks, sound, and temps of this Noctua RTX ;)

The card will still be brown, as the backplate and shroud have a brown tint to it.

der8auer swapped over the brown fans for black ones, he did a vid about it, if you want to see what that looks like. Geeks looking into your case will be in the know with the brown ones though, rather than normal folk who look at the RGB ;)

Given the cost of this upgrade it would seem better suited to a top end card where the extra cost is not as much as a percentage of the overall cost. The 3070 does not really need it. The 3090ti with this sort of thing would get a good percentage of the market I think for that card when it comes out.

So first of all, i´m a big Noctua fan and i like their color scheme, and i think this card looks amazing! It´s different from all the other cards and the brown colo gives it a very distinctive look.

Maybe in person my opinion could change but from the photos of Hilbert it looks that good.

Performance is good, as expected, and the silent mode is just perfect for someone like me.

But the card also has some drawbacks that are impossible to ignore like the size and weight of the damn thing! And if the size is not a big deal because i don´t use the other PCI slots for anything, the weight is a little worrying, more than a 1,5Kg!...

The premium over a normal 3070 is also too much and like others i have to ask, why "waste" all this work on a GPU like the 3070??? This should be for a 3080 or higher...

But i´m not concerned about these little details because i have a feeling Hilbert is going to offer this card next week as part of the current christmas contest and since no one likes Noctua´s color scheme, i guess i´ll have to sacrifice myself and take the card.

It´s okay guys, sometimes we just have to take one for the team...:p

    Great review as always Hilbert.

P.S. Hilbert´s photo´s skills are improving because the card really looks a beauty.

If I got this card I would certainly add a GPU brace of some sort to support the weight. Antec makes a good GPU support brace for $20.

I have heard a lot of people say that but I suspect this was the max amount of heat and still be able to to make a card that is near dead silent. If there was not such a shortage this would be a great card for people who need/want a near silent PC.

May i suggest 2x Lian-Li GB-001 to battle the weight, and sandwich the card in between, it's not going anywhere then.

I secured my deshrouded 1070 with Noctua fans the same way, it's rock solid and looks very minimalistic.

I would so buy aftermarket cooler for gpu if they did

IF there was no shortage and MSRP was not jacked up and there was xx70 verison that also didnt have super hihgh wattage usage too I would buy this.

Back in the day I went out my way to buy GPU made my manufactures that used AC aftermarket GPU coolers on there GPU cause i didnt want to have to install it my self, that was to few and between and half the when it was done GPU it self had other quality control issue like ridiculously amounts of coil whine .

The loudest thing in my PC is still to this date the GPU fan

The loudest thing is my GPU fans as well. I just replaced the thermal pads and thermal paste on my EVGA 1070. I might do a fan mod since it looks like she is going to have to last me a bit longer.

I really try NOT to repaste my cpu and or gpu, unless i have too These i not fan of tearing thing down unless need be.

So far Hellblade seem to be only game I have that really get my gpu temps up there and going. and push my gpu fan to about 1.7k~2k rpm, most the game i play are still rather old and dont even max my gpu usage to 99% to get 60 fps

Yeah same but my 1070 started running hotter and hotter over the last 6 months. It is 5 years old since I got it the first week they came out. Its running a little over 10c cooler now but that is with new thermal pads too.

yah my gpu does seem to idle hotter these days and idle mean fans are not running use to be in low~mid 30c now more around 40c~mid 40 idle, full load is still around 70c maybe add 2 or 3 to that if it been keeping that for hour or more.

Last time last time i went digging around in my pc case and resat my gpu i had error code and after i restat it 2nd time it boot up fine, time before that I was have boot up issues and when went inside to resit the ram system had melt down and bios went corrupted had reflash that, had bunch error codes siting ram/cpu error after that refuse to booting up I finaly go to boot after a few more resiting of ram, it end i had rma my ram to fix all that, it been find since. So dont really want go messing on inside. seem ever time i getting around on inside something goes.

hell for good year or 2 my system would freeze every time I would open front panel on my R5 case to clean out the fan filters, soon as I would close panel it would freeze lock the system. has not done in few years now. I think the gnomes went back to sleep

System has to live for 2 or more years maybe by then the current crazy will die down and gpu will once again be 150watt give or take for mid to highend

The quietest card with the loudest coil whine. I had 3 pieces. Each one had tragic squeaks. Changing the power supply did not help. In the meshify2 case it can be heard from 4-5 meters. When I put the MSI RTX in, I have to put my head in the case to hear something. They all squealed so much that only lowering the voltage to 0.800 - 0.825V resulted in all 3 units.
A friend also bought one. Exactly the same as with me.
