Way to seriously necro a thread and not provide any useful information while doing it. Good job!

it's like you didn't even read what the original post and recommendations were about anything. None of this had anything to do with a 7700k or a 9900k, that's what the nonsense the other guy posted was about.

It had to do with a 4790K@4.6 vs a 3700x and that's it. And never once did i say it'd be twice as fast in gaming.

Just to, you know, allow you to read what you were actually necroing a thread for. But to make this clear: I never said gaming when referencing twice, and guess what? Not everything is about gaming! Wow! Surprising right?

There is no reason to oc the current 3000 series cpus. They do a good enough job on that front themselves. The most improvement to be gained is from fine tuning the ram and making sure the clocks are on a 1:1:1 ratio or have a fast enough ram to overcome the latency hit when ram clock speed exceeds 1900 or 1866 for most. Latency plays more of a role with AMD given the Ryzen cpus versus Intel. That is why one hears more about latency. And there is no longer any of this ram compatibility mess with the 3000 series. Samsung B-die is still king; sadly not in production anymore.
