as if with taa that doesn't happen

so it's off by 5% from what you expexted and it's very underwhelming ?

And do you know what that signals for future?
In past, some cards did hit TBP limits at 300W. But would not clock much higher anyway.
Today, even massive GPUs can clock so high, that TBP actually becomes limiting factor.

6900XT, not only needs memory bandwidth. But it needs Extra power allowance like 3090. AMD giving it sub 10% extra power limit is still limiting it. Its still less power than 3080 has, and way less than 3090 has available.

I am not saying that card should have been given 350W TBP. I am saying that in future, power efficiency is going to be more important than ever before. All those cards leave clock on table. Let's hope 5nm will improve on it, and GPU design itself will conserve more energy too.

so it sorta like the 3080 to 3090 over the 6800xt not worth it for games
not bad deal 6800 or 6900 same with the 3070 3080
oh well if you get a return they be around tax return time
that's what I an thinking all in stock by march everywhere
    no big deal
    @fox
bro the performance you get on 300+watts in pretty good by both more so amd but I would not complain at all

yup! underwhelming. I was expecting those 10CUs to give a minimum of 10% everywhere + higher OC clocks than 6800XT, but nope. From here on out AMD will start charging top dollars for their top cards regardless of performance just like nVidia.

Its got the same power envelope as the 6800XT, hard to get much more out of it.

can't do light without dark. and dark is the hardest thing for a monitor to do

How is you monitor and HDR related to ray-tracing?

Agreed. The only thing worse than this price/performance is the RTX 3090. And that IS worse. Much worse.

Why do you need an HRD monitor for Ray Tracing? One is a color/contrast range, the other is a lighting effect/global illumination technique in games.....how are they correlated?

I think its time to drop pc gaming and go console.
Graphics seem better on console today and the cost is much better.

Just waiting on that Switch Pro and BOTW2.
My best ever gaming experience was on the switch.:)
I'm considering a £1000 3080TI when they release but at same time i'm thinking ..

Just a heads up for Hilbert - Watch Dogs Legion ray tracing for AMD has not been working correctly since launch. Some objects that should reflect just haven't been.
It is possible the patch finally fixed this resulting in the performance drop.

This image shows the issue very easily. That black object should be silver and reflective.

This is what it looks like on NVIDIA cards

FidelityFX Super Resolution is still under development i think and we have no idea if it can compete with DLSS.

That's it. AMD has dropped the ball hard OFFICIALLY as expected.

Not quite - RTX3090 has the wow factor: 24 GB VRAM even if you don't use them all (for gaming), almost 1000 GB/s memory bandwidth (it's a psychological gap), 10000 shader cores- another psychological gap.

Tell me something "wow" about RX6900XT.

    - Within less than 10% of performance of the 3090, while being about 3/4's of the cost.
    - Power draw
    - Uses standard 8 pin power adapters
    - More headroom for overclocking/boosting

This is definitely something we need from team red, competition. What they do best is undercut the competition while still being very viable.
