ADATA recently started offering their Spectrix S40G NVMe M.2 SSD series, RGB bling aside, we really wanted to check out this SSD as it is based on a Realtek RTS5762, an 8-channel NAND controller we ha...

Great review, Hilbert. So, in your opinion, what are currently t the NVMe SSDs with the best cost/performance available in Europe?
    Cheers

Well, this looks like a silly product - an RGB heatsink which is not really a heatsink and just makes the product run hotter instead. Might have been an ok product if it weren't for the overheating. The sustained write performance when you dropped a 100GB ISO file onto it was good, that's about it.

I understand that companies need to keep products coming but they should be trying to improve on other companies short falls, i recently had a Crucial P1 1tb, without a heatsink it reached 75c but with a heatsink that had a blower fan built in it stayed below 55c peak but as this product can not be improved it feels like a pointless product venture, yes it may have good peak speeds but if you need to live in the artic to stop it throttling its not one that i will consider, would be good if HH tested it without the rgb on to see if that is the thermal issue.
