Finally these two morons are recognized. Their unique advice all over Guru3D forum is:

"Get yourself SB 2500K or 2600K and new motherboard!"

Notice the only people defending BD have AMD cpus. Every review says bd sucks. How can you release a new gen cpu and have the old thuban cpus outperform it? That makes it junk. And amd owners respond to facts by throwing petty insults instead of providing something useful.

you look like the troll here. here since 2006 and cannot come with a better statement than this. I have helped countless people on theses forums and agent too. can any of you trolls say the same or you just here to defend a cpu brand to your death:stewpid:

This is exactly the reason why I have gave up coming to this forum. I could care less about anyones 2600k. Put my system next to any Intel 2600k system during gaming and you won't see a difference.

^^^what is your cpu speed? you paired up 2 480`s with that cpu? that kind of gpu horsepower needs an i5 i7 pick whatever socket you want 1156,1366,1155,2011 at around 4ghz or more to get all you can out of those 2 gpu`s. sure all your games must be playable but you are going to run into cpu bottlenecking with a BD and 2 480`s

i'm sorry TK4ever but you put your 3dmark score p12241 on the thread with a sli 580oc according to your spec that is quite the same as a 6990oc and the op put his score on the first page and guess what, he get p10318 with a graphic score very close to you (you: 12900,the op: 12000) and you have the benefit of hardware physx (op get 7952 and you 11145), you both hav the cpu oc the same (just +200mhz for you), so i can't see the MASSIVE bottleneck you talking about with multi gpu, please and look at the score if you don't trust me.

the p score is what really counts in the end 2000 more on a very old bench at very conservative gpu speeds. 3dmark 11 is a level playing field for benchmarking amd and nvidia. that terrible physics score is due solely to the BD cpu. in vantage nvidia cards need ppu disabled for a proper score. that bench I provided was almost a year old, just to show what to provide as proof

heres a vantage run with ppu disabled, run a BD cpu at any clock speed and you will see a big difference in the cpu score.
as you can see this bench is from may 2011, it is old as well

and I am not bragging here I know Agent can kill my scores with his msi lightnings, lots of other people can kill my scores too. just saying is all

    Is 12.9 k GPU score really good for two OCd 580s on a 5 ghz 2600k? I get 12k+

vantage is ancient technology. I try to use only benchmarks updated since bulldozer's release, many of which are more optimized for its new arch. But I might post vantage scores as well to emphasize how older benchmarks make FX out to be worse than it actually is.

that bench is 11 months old on a very conservative gpu clock, yours was as 990 whats the stock 6990 gpu, I understand you do not want to do a vantage run you are only interested in BD positive benches and vantage isnt one of them

i was thinking 3d mark 2011 is regulary updated in order to keep a good scaling with new thech/drivers, so its never an old bench in fact.

oh sry your were talking about the bench session

yes 3dmark11 has a patch with bulldozer optimizations, while vantage hasnt been updated in forever.

Heres my score using clocks in specs. This is older from when i just got 580 sli. Highest bench was a bit above 15000k for gpu but i dont have that link, need to do another run.

You sure are funny. You tell me you can see a difference by eye?

To respond to the other person. I don't see a bottleneck at 1920x1200. Your hard drives would be a far worse bottleneck to a system then my graphics.

Lol bro, if you can get 50% more fps then yes you can see a difference.. Unless you dont have a 120hz screen like me. And whi are you responding to about harddrives? I know mine arent bottlenecking anything.

When you get more fps with a cpu(2500k) that is cheaper than another cpu(fx 8150) but you still buy the fx 8150 ....unless you already had a BD compatible mobo..i seriosly don't understand your logic. It doesn't matter if you don't see the difference or not in games..why buy something weaker at a more expensive price? ...i checked newegg.com for prices so if where you live the 8150 is cheaper then ignore this post.
