Why are japanese companies so bad at writing patch notes lol.
This is only second to nintendo switch system update notes which for 3 years straight just states general system stability improvements.

Steam community is the got-to place these days. Steam forums are being forgotten by the devs each passing day.

I'm a couple hours in and enjoying it, any way to switch off the on-screen prompt to open photo mode every time there's a cut scene?
The AA in this game is done very well i usually can't handle any kind of aa.

And here, so many fans think of RE7 and Village to be massive improvements over some past entries. And a solid return to form for the series.

Played every entry since the very first game, and after the garbage that was RE5 and 6, I was ready to ignore the series completely.
But, RE7 brought it all back and did it wonderfully.
And Village continues on 7's themes, but brought in elements of RE4, and did so wonderfully.

To be honest they weren't bad games by any extent (well except becoming increasingly over the top even by RE standards), 5 and 6 clearly improved gameplay formula where controlling player felt approximately like you could do what you intended to, especially in RE6 which had bulk of skill based mechanics that rewarded good aim.

It's just probably not what people expected but in the retrospective of like what, 20+ different mainline and spinoff games i can forgive them that much.
Honestly i still find it weird that capcom didn't just split the series into separate tracks with Resident Evil being slow and more survival-horror'y and Biohazard being more action oriented like 4-6 games, while keeping same characters and lore. This way literally EVERYONE can get what they want without having one group feel like they get left out if current game is too fast or too slow.

This game was an absolute joy to experience. From the way they set up the story, to the visuals and atmosphere, overall mechanics, the characters... the entire journey is so well crafted. Cheesy and over the top just enough, while still being gruesome and delivering that survival / resource management element. Just so Resident Evil, while also being a fresh new experience.
    Just keep them coming Capcom!

It's where it falls into personal preferences and taste.
    But... I would disagree.

I found RE5 playable, and it looked nice visually. But I hated the story, characters and the forced AI companion dragged the game down horribly.
And RE6, I have nothing nice to say about it.
That game went for quantity, where it should've cut back on the amount of content and polished up what was there.

I hated 6. And, it was a massively disappointing experience. I went in excited, telling myself people were blowing it out of proportion... that it would still be a fun game.
And I didn't enjoy any of my time with it.
Story and characters were, like with 5, very bad and poorly done. And, the gameplay felt like a pretty sizeable step backwards from 5. The over reliance on QTE...

Sorry. I know there are people that like both those games... but, I just did not enjoy either.
5 I can see as a decent game, just a poor Resident Evil. 6... I do not think is a good game in any way.

The shadows are done very well as is the candle lit castle, RT is very apt in this game imo, slowly making my through it and thankful it's not a cpu hog.
