To cut it short I don't like the G19 for the keys, I have outgrown the cube like keys and want to lean toward the more flatter keyboards, easier to press and feel alot nicer on my fingers. Now I know replacing a G19 is probably sacrilege but at the time, I had the money for a G19, never owned a gaming keyboard before and thought well may as well go balls out and get the 'best'. Well I have been looking at the Razer Lycosa, for those who don't know http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Razer/Lycosa/ question is, is it a worthwhile 'upgrade', what are your guys opinion on this keyboard and can you recommend any? I want flat based and preferably, LED (not because I can't touch type, but because it looks cool!)
Really bad quality. The Lycosa palm rest is really flimsy, almost as if it would be removable but its not. Not without unscrewing it at least. Also there was a recall on older models and the ones popping up now have a "Improved Keystroke Mechanism" sticker..... The keys do feel and sound great but I regret buying one. I have another Razer keyboard the Anansi and I have zero complaints. Not everyone's cup of tea but I find it to be my best keyboard to date. The Lycosa is NOT a worthy upgrade. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/razer-lycosa-defective-warranty,7056.html http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.220723800
If you want slim, and you don't care for NKRO (The lycosa is NOT NKRO)... try the logitech illuminated slim. http://www.logitech.com/keyboards/keyboard/devices/4740 -scheherazade
