Reddit poster loses job b/c of posts

    It came in to effect at the same time that the Bill of Rights came into effect. This guy isn't going to be thrown in jail as long as what he is doing is not illegal, only distasteful. You don't have a right to no consequences for what you say though.

    I'm not overly familiar with US law, that's why I asked. Kind of silly really, one kinda contradicts the other don't it?

    ^It's the kind of rule that doesn't let you scream "FIRE" in a movie theater or "BOMB" in an airport when there really isn't anything going on, yet lets you criticize the government without fear of being suppressed.

    Nope. The Constitution is a restriction on government, not anyone else.

    Unless you're congress (or a local government to whom the 1st applies thanks to the 1st amendment), it doesn't restrict you.
