This is one of the few rare games I bought for my regular xbox one which collects dust most of the time. I really enjoyed it, it was everything I wanted out of a successor to the first game and more. Detail levels off the charts.

The list of improvements for the PC version is significant, and I can't wait to run this in 4K on my TV with high fps and improved textures and lighting. Only part that sucks is waiting until December if I want it on steam, but oh well I can wait a month I guess.

My understanding is that even if bought on Steam you will still have the Rockstar game launcher? Kind of like how if you buy a Ubisoft game on Steam it will just open up Uplay if you launch the game from Steam. Does anyone know if that is the case for RDR2?

Probably. Previous R* games required the Social Club, no matter where you bought them, so I'd wager that it's going to be similar with the launcher.

Real gamers do not use DLSS. AMD's RIS with reduced scale at 0.7x is superior to pseudo Nvidia AI. Talk about a failure.

Funny to have such discussion over a game that is so blurry on its own :) The only cure for RDR2's blurriness will be supersampling and/or AMD's sharpening, which is kinda growing on me... even though I hate sharpen effects.

Oh btw. RDR2 has built-in adaptive sharpening, very similar to what we can see in Division 2.

It didn't because it was running at native 4K.

when it came out it did on my Xbox one X @ 4k , it was caused by the heavy TemporalAA btw

X1X version is crystal clear now, PS4 Pro remains blurry.

All version are very blurry. It's because of strong TAA, temporal reconstruction (as mentioned earlier), strong motion blur and a really excessive use of DOF. All these techniques combined produce really soft image. None of these effects can be disabled on consoles. Sure, XB1X looks the best because it runs native (not really) 4K while PS4Pro 50% of that and XB1 or base PS4 are not even worth mentioning, because they are blurry and stuttery mess.

If somebody doesn't understand what I'm writing here, start the game, move slowly and watch alphas (grass, trees, bushes, etc..) even slightest movement blurs them all. That is the best and most visible example.

Are the API's used between the two platforms different? I would assume the XB1X is using DX12?

PS4 Pro was handled pretty badly, a resolution of 1920x2160 was always going too look blurry.

At least HDR was fixed with patch 1.09 on consoles.
