I think the update changed the gfx settings, today i had plenty of stuff on ultra and i'm sure it wasn't like that when i left.

Set the settings file to read only? I put my gfx back to mostly high and i'm at 70fps again. Weird.

A fortunate aspect of playing at lower than native res on my TV is it smooths aliased edges a bit, I get away with less AA at times.
And it interpolates the framerate (to 120Hz) without bad effect too, that made me happy. The only proviso is running at constant 60fps for best effect.
I tried reducing the games internal render resolution to have more power for other settings but it looked so bad, that was a shame.

So your monitor is 1440p but you play on 1080p?

I'm wondering if you'd actually recognise a difference between ultra and high in game. A mixture of ultra and high would boost your fps quite a bit esp with stuff like water physics and volumetric lighting.

I played RDR2 on my PS4 and it looked awesome @1080p ( 4K TV as well). Surprisingly the gfx details for the ps4 version would be some on low, most on medium and some near-distance stuff on high.
There 's an interesting video on YT comparing RDR2's gfx and performance.

    • Fixed several crashes and stuttering issues when using Vulkan on some systems with multiple graphics cards
    • Fixed a crash that occurred when switching between graphics APIs and display modes on some systems
    • Fixed a crash that occurred when changing settings on some systems with integrated graphics
    • Fixed a crash that occurred in Story Mode while running the game in Offline mode from a mapped network drive
    • Fixed several random crashes that occurred during gameplay in Story Mode and Red Dead Online
    • Fixed an issue that may have caused random stalls and stuttering while using DirectX 12 on some systems
    • Fixed an issue that occurred when attempting to run the game on some versions of the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build
    • Fixed several issues with the rendering of lighting, shadows and snow deformation when using Vulkan and Multisample anti-aliasing (MSAA) on systems with multiple graphics cards
    • Fixed several issues with flickering textures and other graphical corruption when using Vulkan on systems with multiple graphics cards
    • Fixed an issue that caused flickering or missing textures on some weapons

Hmm, those patch notes make me wonder if there is any performance boost with Crossfire + Vulkan now?

Stick to your gun's man,do not let the man bring you down.Protest to the highest authorities on the injustices of the saggy hay stack. If that does not work call Pfizer for some Viagra.Opps my fault you are referring to the stiff hay sacks, then call a doctor if more than 4 hours.

After a few hundred hours I stopped playing but now picked it back up in Chapter 5.It is a crazy good time wasting game and it looks
fantastic with proper HDR on,just mind blown stuff,i do not mind the hay stack disater.
