Question, do I need to uninstall MEI first or can I just overwrite? Not sure what version I have (Im not at home atm).

I've not really noticed this until last night.

I decided to reinstall RIDE + all Patches including DLC.

I used to play it a lot when i was on win 7 and i remember how shocked i was at how smooth it ran while i shot along at breakneck speeds.

Just spent the whole night with RIDE on Win 10 with 355.82 and i couldn't even get close to my times because the game was like a strobe light.

Stuttering like crazy but with V-sync on a solid 60fps no problem yet still it's basically unplayable for me.

So it's gone from butter smooth on Win7 to being an absolute mess on Win10.

Don't have time atm to be messing around with drivers and testing stuff so i'm stuck on these drivers now till MS/nVidia sort this shiz out.

Re stutter and lag in games.

Hi guys. I was just reading through this thread and i felt that i must express to you what i did in the end to get rid of my stutter in games.I had nasty stutter for so long i can not tell you how frustrating it was.I was going to give up on PC gaming altogether and just buy a console.I sure did not want to do that!I could never enjoy playing at 60fps and the rest , blah, blah. Its only just the last month or so that i finally managed to sort it. I found this web site and applied all. Thank god for the person whom typed all that out. HERE : Hmmm i was not allowed to post a link but if you search in google for this exactly it should be the first link that comes up. " Ultimate Windows 7 (8) OS gaming optimization guide " If you already know all this forgive me. Also disabling origin in game is a must. I did update to windows 10 a while back but i was getting low frame rates and stutter so i went back to windows 8.1. I will do that untill i feel that all the problems have been ironed out. Ok well thanks and i hope that it might also help some one out there. Cheers :) :)

Thanks for this; going to try and report back. The god awful stutters were about to make me buy a console too. Can't stand this garbage.

New MEI just came out 11.0.0.1167. Any idea how this one performs?

I wonder if this issue has been reported to Intel/Nvidia/MS yet

I already test Titanfall, Bioshock infinite, BL2, BF4, Crysis 3.... and no hitching or stuttering on this games. Only hitching in Phantom Pain, but like i say only from time to time.

I also tested the above games and this is true. The hitching is in the phantom pain and ground zeroes ive tested so far. But i'm trying to understand if its cache related, the first run is perfect but the second run causes it to hitch.

    Interesting.

    @gerychild

Well, i dont have a sli setup or a extreme overclock on my card due to still being on air unfortunately for my gpu. I will go sli for pascal tho..

    @herochild,

This problem existed for years from what i believe, i've tested alot of MEI drivers and from research its not the MEI driver, its one of the components in the package thats delivering the boost.

    NB

Honestly speaking, I feel honored being able to contribute knowledge to a forum and website ive visited and admired for years.

Its because of this forum i've learned about cpu timer resolution and cryengine games and put the pieces together that a component from the mei package was responsible.

I will dedicate some hours into the Chipset and rst drivers but i suspect that the ones on biostar site are good and stable.

Hopefully, someone at nvidia is fixing the issue on the recent driver.

Windows 8.1. optimized to my liking using 353.38.
Everything works flawlessly and ultra smooth.
Windows 10 is still in beta stages, i will wait until dx12 becomes standard before i upgrade to 10.

For me it appeared to be only imei issue @win10 and one particular game . Rest ran fine no hitching or stutter or low fps.. gta5 or cod ghosts ran better by default compared to win8.1.

But this magic imei v11.0.0.144 worked only after i installed whole package, might test newer (whole package, not just the driver like usually) and see again @ cryengine3 games e.g. Ryse Son of Rome.

Btw, version info from the ME_SW_1d5M_Win10.exe package:

    <version>11.0.0.1144</version>

I mean it is not 11.0.0.144 and google search provides a bunch of links:

I just extracted it and then ran normal intel installer inside.

What parameters did you use? I have tried several with no luck.

    Edit: I succeeded with 7zip =)

Edit: Did you run SetupITA.exe or msi-files?

Just tried the .144 MEI driver but I still got stuttering in DA:I.
Then I tried to raise priority to High and the stuttering stopped immediately.

    check

After that I went to "Programs and Features" and removed "Intel Security Helper" and "Intel Technology Access" components - they (their services) demonstrated quite activity in process explorer (and also had huge numbers of threads).

Well I had to keep those or that game Ryse son of Rome had same fps/gpu usage drops as with any IMEI only driver. Weird though, win8.1 didn't have such symptoms with just IMEI driver v 10.0.30.1054 or newest 11.0.0.1160.

Here its at 0% e.g. desktop usage and web browsing + yt atm
