    Hey guys,

Just wondering, which one's better, my media centre's built-in ALC1200 or an Audigy SE? If it's a lot better then I'm thinking of getting this budget card because I don't got a lot of money to spare. If there's not much difference then I'm keeping what I have.

    Thanks,

How about the X-Studio vs. the Realtek ALC1200? I see there's a sale for that at Canada Computers...

and which is better, the X-Studio or Audigy SE? All I need is a clear crisp card for stereo output over my TV, it has a 3.5mm to RCA audio cable attached to my onboard atm.

if you just send the audio to your TV I doubt you will hear a difference since TV speakers are most the time very limited.

Even if it isn't using HDMI? Alright, I guess I can keep that $30-$40.

    Thanks,

Grab a used X-Music or something. You can get a used X-music for like $40...

If it is a media PC then you need a decent soundcard. You know it! :)

Ya I know. Unfortunately, I'm a university student, so I'm cash strapped. I want the best, but don't quite have the cash to do so.

I figured you were strapped. That is why I mentioned the used market place.
