No, they doesn't support PS3.0.
lol, thats funny, who said that painkiller support sm3? and for farcry support it but not now when patch comes well see, cuz i dont want to buy an expansion pack just to get sm3
lol, maybe quentin tarantino made his special eefect on a macintosh or something.
"Mac killed my inner child" Hunter Kressen (last name spelling?)
I take it y'all have seen the Crash Different video?
guys come on back to the main issue,
and no more flaming,
we are all civilised people.....well most of us are...
From what I've read, I know farcry will support virtual displacement mapping, that can be done with SM2.0 without a problem.
Supporting SM3.0 for 6800 series in farcry would make a difference only in speed... but the patch isn't out yet... so I don't know if I'm right. It'd be good to see some SM3.0 effects
I'm only saying that right now, they don't support PS3.0.
About painkiller... I also don't know if they will support PS 3.0, I only know that the game is a DirectX 9 game (not 9.0c).
i like the fact that the car wheels in NFSU are pixel shaded, no more hexagonal wheels
The 6800 launch actually had these games listed (painkiller, farcry) as SM3.0, so we can expect patches out soon that enable it.
As for the slides, I think they're hilarious!! If all that is true, I would laugh. Oh wait, I am laughing. You'd think reviewers would underclock their cards to correct speeds if they got o'ced ones, and not make big statements about it.
"up to 3% difference" = MAYBE 1-2 fps in the newer games.
I still don't understand how some of this stuff gets leaked onto the web though. I'm sure if an nvidia employee leaked this, they wouldn't have a job to go to, so either they were "leaked" --> conspiracy by nvida or actually leaked and some employee got in deep caka for it.
Just my thoughts. I still think the 6800 is a nice deal, and seems to be becoming available v/soon.
I don't trust MAC... maybe bill is controling MAC too!! we must go back to the sources and destroy the matrix *takes out his old XT 80086 and connects to internet* :vader:
wow never tought that pinakiller was goign to support sm3
flame flame flame.... this thread couldn't finish any other way... (sigh)
man i love your keyboard
thi is also cool:
I was talking about the present.
Now... if they will have support for SM3.0 it's not the same as a game that was written for SM3.0 from scratch.
Unreal3 is the game I call a SM3.0 game. Not a patched SM2.0 game.
Have you seen Unreal3 engine video??? Those images were way different from everything I've seen so far. I know it's been run on a 6800, but I noticed some stuttering in the outdoor areas... imagine what'd happen when you add players, monsters, physics, etc. We really need new hardware to play Unreal3 with all the Eye Candy, I mean, a really capable SM3.0 card.
That's why I still state: those new cards from NV and ATI, are cards for you to have fun NOW... not tomorrow (year 2006). And that's why I also don't believe in 6800 as a SM3.0 capable card.
come on guys no more flaming, we don't want this thread locked yet,
and..... the difference with SM3.0 will be little for us....
for the developers it will make a huge change, cause its easier to program
well its 16 pages already why not? this thread is hijacked already
I think the flaming stopped. Now we are just discussing about SM3.0, etc etc.
The flaming stopped when we discovered Bill was the one to flame.
So... if you want to flame: then you can't stop seeing this brand new movie!!! From the director of Kill Bill.... we proudly present: FLAME BILL!!!! With all kind of SM3.0 effects, with the XT series power and the MAC stupidity!!! You will be like this
i reckon its gunna come down to ATI and NV joining forces and making the Nvidati 15000ultra,
now that would kill
xD hahaha!!! LOL!!!
we need to build an army to destroy the bill empire lol
so we are going to let go all this:
nvidia, ati, microsoft, macintosh, directx, opengl, netscape, mozilla, bmw, mercedes benz, playboy, penthouse, etc.
