So far am at £579 for an inno 780ti plus an xspc razor waterblock...

from OCUK any suggestions on anything better?

am ruling out a 290+block even though it's gonna cost me more.

I currently use a backplate with my 580 but is it worth the extra £20 or so squid?

p.s dont think I can wait till Maxwell.

If you cant wait for Maxwell it may be worth waiting for 6GB 780.
Depends on yourself whether you need 3 or 6. Either way its a great performing card.

Just bought an Asus 780Ti DCUII from there, EK are making, or have made a block for it. Its stunning tbh. Titanfall @ 1920x1080, insane textures and everything maxed out is smooth as silk, no slow downs, dunno what fps I'm getting as afterburners RTSS stopped working when I installed it, no biggie though cuz like I said, its just smooooooooth as fook. I did consider the inno, but as this card is extremely recommended I bought it, and it was £539.

    BOSH jobs a good 'un

Mmm still in two minds. If I get a 290+block I save around £170. That's more or a less a Korean screen as well....

Will have to look at some more results.

Am only really playing world of tanks atm with the occasional bit of bf4/company of heroes/rome2/fifa...

Suppose could try out a 290 to see it it's any good..

yeah that's what i'll most likely do then at some point...although that might create more issues.

i.e will i get away with two gpu's and an already toasty cpu on just the one radiator....?

Also, depending on what's all powering off the Antec you might be pushing it with SLI or at the very least limiting you OC headroom.

Might be better served with 2 290 or 2 780 if you could afford 2 cards now. That would do much better than 1 780ti at 1440. I really can't recommend just 1 card at that resolution.

speaking out of real life experience Dont Go Crossfire
There are more problems with crossfire then with SLI

I just went sli with 2 780's (Asus Directcu II OC ) and it blows away the red team (no fanboy here)
i was building a simulair system with 2x290 and its just not running smooth

On air i did 67 on the hottest 780 just installed Ek waterblocks and maxing temp is 37 and 39 after 1 hour heaven benchmark (mainboard and cpu in the same loop on a 560 rad with mcp655 pump)

(80+ on the 290 cards on air with the sound of a vacuum cleaner )(no WC system build for a friend)

yep that's what has been causing me the dilemma. if i go sli am gonna need to change psu/case with more cooling. unless I run sli without the waterblocks...

I might just stick to 1920x1200 and perhaps go for an evga 780ti card and then step up to Maxwell. If you can still do the step-up options.

I'd grab a regular 780 if I was you, then grab another down the line. They tend to OC well, and it's still a big jump from what you're using. Although 290's are a lot cheaper in the UK at the moment if the expense is a concern.

tbh I might just leave it.

what makes it more of a dilemma is am not playing very heavy gpu games. mostly wot/fifa with the odd bit of bf4.

I do want to jump up to 27inch though just i'd rather not have to spend around £1000 on gpu's...(but maybe something like a 290/290x/780ti single gpu can cut it especially with the less demanding titles).

p.s I let xenotone have dibs on the block considering he owns a 780 already, seems fair.
