Very odd, 96 rops multiplied by 2.5GHz is indeed 240 Gpixels.

Is TPU taking the Dual Issue instructions into its considerations?

 

Yea they could be taking the 12228 number of shaders that was flying around when its actually 6144 shaders that basically are "hyper threaded".

Still strange they haven't fixed it or GPUz hasn't released a new version that actually reads the GPU correctly.

Or they are calculating with a higher clocks speed but this is from the reference board page on TPU.

 

UNDERVOLT THESE CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Undervolting these cards bring a HUGE increase in both performance and clock scaling!!!

Default voltages are 1150Mv

Seems AMD control panel is a little flaky when settings values so you don't actually get what you set. Only memory speeds are the closest to what you set.

Got memory to 2650MHz (real clocks 2636MHz)

Got the core to hit OVER 3GHz @ 950Mv!!!! By settings 3200MHz core and 1025Mv in control panel.



clocks still do fluctuate a little but they stay around the 2.9GHz range and do go above 3GHz.

Temps are down by 10C from around 68C at full load to 58C

Junction Temp still can hit 100C though. I may repaste this GPU and add some thermal pads to the back of it to put that metal backplate to better use. I have some 1.5mm thick arctic pads not sure if they will be thick enough. Will test tomorrow.

 

shaders have nothing to do with pixel fillrate
gpuz is detecting the number of rops wrong,should be 192

 

ahhhh I missed that my bad!

 

It seems the 7900 series is like Ampere, power limited and not voltage limited. I also got great results from undervolting. I'm very keen to see what the aftermarket cards with higher power limits can achieve.

 

Amd screw up by releasing these cards at such low clocks. I guess you can always overclock them yourself but still...

Its making a big difference

 

My card is pretty much the same. I found out that I also needed 1065Mv set in AMD control panel. I had a crash in 3DMark Speed Way.

1025Mv wasn't enough and 1050Mv also crashed. 1065Mv seems to be the sweet spot.

Just got

13 599 in Time Spy 4K Extreme with a 15 474 Graphics score.

So the best version will be with more power budget and a good undervolt like Ampere?

 

Good performance uplift but that power draw is insane...

 

Don't buy the reference or you're leaving a lot of performance on the table if you want to overclock! This is crazy that when you up the core clock it has to down the VRAM clocks to keep within the power target on the reference and you lose a very good amount of performance.

 

Whats the watts at on the OC run?

 

this is red devil with a 400w limit.
