Got myself a firepro off the internet

was extremely dusty, removed cooler and cleaned it.

Should i reuse the old thermal pads for the memory or just remove them altogether?

Always replace any part that was original to the equipment. That is it's optimal performance build.

    Keep or replace them.

I guess my question was, are the old pads still viable?

They are more viable than no thermal pad.

As long as it isn't ripped into pieces.

you can use thermal paste as a temporary replacement if the pads are crumbling(so long as the gap isnt too big), but you should really replace the old pads with new pads.

Well now that is entirely a different question. If you have the skills to swap out the pads do so. If not, if it's not a rats nest in there let it be.;)
