    Hi there,

I need a quick advice: Is there any benefit from having 2x2 GB of RAM over 4x1 GB? If so is it a big one?

Thing is I need a little upgrade and have those two OCZ sticks that I really like
I can get the very same kit once again making it 4 sticks. This would be 20 €. But I can also get an OCZ 4 GB kit for 30 €.
Both are 800 Mhz. The 2 GB kit is XTC Platinum (4-4-4-15) and the 4 GB kit is the gold edition (5-5-5-18)

    Thanks in advance.

RAM is known to give trouble when you have 4 slots full and are OCing.
It is better to go for 2 x 2, the least amount of sticks, the better.

So I'll get 2x2 GB. Maybe I'll find a use for the old sticks.

    Thanks for all the input!

Here's a better solution. Put the 2x2GB in the first two slots (whichever way your motherboard requires dual channel to work if applicable, and then put the original sticks in the other slots. Potentially 6GB of RAM there. If there's any stability issues, just remove the last two 1GB sticks, you will have 4. I personally have 6GB in my computer without any issue. In a 2x2GB and 2x1GB configuration.

2x2Gb is definitely the way to go, less problems overclocking for sure.

Also I would recommend the OCZ Reaper line over the ones you listed above, can't help but love the copper heat pipe on a stick of RAM :D
