I wonder if the news of Intel killing its gaming graphics business after just one generation are true, after all. That being said, the next gen would already be internally more or less ready by now, if it exists.

This was expected, considering the lackluster launch of Arch.
And he had already been demoted at Intel.

    That was a good one...

I think we all know Raja knows what he does, but that guy always over promises and under deliver.
I just hope Intel don't kill Arc, as consumers we need more competition on GPU market

What we need to revive the GPU market and give AMD and Intel slack to catch up, would be Nvidia hiring him.

Maybe finally Intel can start making good GPUs.

Departing Intel exec to focus on loosening Nvidia's grip on AI for movies, games

March 21 (Reuters) - Raja Koduri, the chief architect at Intel Corp (INTC.O), is leaving to start a company that aims to loosen longtime rival Nvidia Corp's (NVDA.O) grip on the digital movie and video game markets.

Koduri, whose departure was announced by Intel Chief Executive Pat Gelsinger in a tweet on Tuesday, told Reuters his as-yet-unnamed company will aim to make a new wave of so-called generative artificial intelligence tools that work on chips from Intel, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.O), Apple Inc (AAPL.O) or even future chips based on open-source RISC-V technology...

New software tools can generate fresh imagery from just a text prompt and hold great promise for fields like visual effects and video games, Koduri said. But they typically are designed to work only on Nvidia chips.

Koduri said his first efforts will be aimed at creating a service that lets movie and game artists easily use those AI tools whether they are using a PC, Mac, iPad or other device without having to dive deep into software code.

Those artists "are not technical. They just get baffled by all this stuff," Koduri said...

Sounds to me like Intel got what they wanted out of him and put him out to pasture - which for all we know may have been a mutual agreement from the start. I don't think this has any bearing on the future of their GPU division.

Yeah, you probably read it right here, in the news ?! Ain't that great ! :D

But my oh my, he made a tons of money for himself doing crappy thing

Lets be honest, he still bring a nice first batch of GPU (excluding the very low entry made for China) and drivers that were very bad at the beginning clearly got way better.
I don't think he made a big mess as a lot of people said. ARC is not the mainstream lineup we could have hoped for, but it is decent priced for performance. One could only hope they can catch up the "one generation behind" bit by bit after each new GPU architecture. But i don't think anyone was expecting them to compete with AMD & nVidia current generation of GPU with their first products.
