Alright, so I wanna make a nice little RAID 0 setup. My current setup all (IDE): HDD: WD 500Gb WD 500Gb Seagate 4Tb SSD: OCZ 128Gb Samsung 128Gb Sandisk 128Gb (OS) I was gonna sell (if I still get any money for them) the two WD drives and buy another 4Tb HDD. Sell the OCZ and the Evo and buy 2 250Gb 840 Evo SSDs. Now my question is, can I set the two SSDs up in RAID 0 and a 500Gb partition od the 4Tb disk to back-up everything from the two drives? I am concerned that since the data is split, it won't automatically be merged when it is backed up. Is that Correct? Also, is there any affordable possibility to add SATA slots? Thanks guys! -vTune
when you raid 2 drives, they are seen as one. the data is split across the drives, but the os still sees it as one drive, so when backups are run, it will backup everything on the raid.
so If I were to later open the data on an IDE drive or even a flash drive, it would read just fine? Thx Claw
yes thats right. http://us.hardware.info/reviews/412...5-how-do-they-actually-work-raid-0-n-striping i would suggest just doing a bit of research before you jump into the raid system. read that link and you should be good. but never hurts to be sure
