Hmm, anyone know what's causing this? When I try to load the .cfg file in console I just get "Couldn't exec rageconfig.cfg" :S

Any way to set fps from 60 to 120, my 120hz monitor is crying ;_;

 

Spent most of the day downloading Rage on steam, all fired up to play with all the configs on standby, latest drivers installed.. fire up the game and bam App crash.

Can't get the god damn game to run.

Rage has stopped working every time I launch the game, never even see the splash screen.

I've done clean instal, latest Rage drivers and latest Caps.

Just wont launch.

Probably a crossfire issue? Great, you try disable that sheit on a 5970 since they took out the CAT AI setting and now when you try disable it manually it hard locks.

When i played for half an hour, there was no texture problems etc. But the vsync off is bad to my eyes.

Fixed it, had Tripple Buffering enabled in CCC.

After disabling Tripple Buffering I'm launching no problem.

 

Default is 2 threads and its ok) 4 causes hangs and 100% cpu load.

id said their engine supports 4x aniso, so higher values are possible but won't have positive effects, just some glitches.

Configs must be tuned according to available ram and vram.
And some commands don't exist in Rage, this can be checked through the console.

 

What command do i put in the "rageconfig.cfg" to skip the intro ?

This doesnt work : seta com_SkipIntroVideo 0

 

It must be placed as startup parameter:
Rage.exe +set com_allowconsole 1 +set com_skipIntroVideo 1

 

So its not in the cfg. ?

DWAH!! Now that I am in Wellspring ALL the NPC's are artifacting and flickering like crazy!! Now I am back to messing with configs again.....

 

I've asked a few friends, and they've thought the same thing....


But, I'm not the only one to notice that the first title id Software releases after partnering with VeniMax/Bethesda... has a buggy PC release. I'm really curious about ZeniMax's PC quality assurance department.

Splash Damage had some pretty big issues with Brink at release, Oblivion... same. Fallout 3, New Vegas... tons of issues at release. Now, RAGE...
And yes, while it is true that a lot of the issues are due to driver problems. And the typical "ATI/AMD wonderful OpenGL support" (it shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone at this point that their OpenGL support is crap)... I still can't help but notice a trend.

I love ZeniMax, as they are possibly the only publisher that doesn't annoy me to no end. But, at the same time, I've always hated how buggy and flawed their releases are.
I'll get them, but I expect Skyrim to launch with it's fare share of problems. And while I hope Human Head don't follow suit, I'm kind of expecting PREY 2 to have problems when it releases next year as well.
