I play Crysis @ 1280x1024 everything on very high 25-40fps , i can run that game at 3840 by 1024 (3 19inc tfts) on med setting no aa, get 30 fps ish
i play at 1280x1024@ ultra high(custom) patch 1.2 and forceware 174.20 i get 20-25 avg crysis is very smooth at 22-25 FPs it feels like the frames r 30+ as long as the games runnin smooth i dnt care wat fps i get let it be 60+ or 20+
Yeh ive noticed with crysis it runs smooth between 20 to 25 but most games like need around 35 up to run smooth!
i used to play at 1920 x 1080 ultra high 16xAF,0xAA on 40 inch hdtv and get 20 to 25 fps but now i stopped playing its a boring game
seems to run alot smoother since the 1.2 patch. even on the carrier after the nuke its way more playable. i'm running @ 1024x768 4xAA 16xAF all settings on high, and i'm getting between 30-50 fps i can run the same fps @ 1280x1024 0AA, but i'd rather have AA than a higher resolution
ever notice the jagged lines on straight edges? well AA covers that up. makes the image much cleaner. personally i cant play without it!
Well i can play it "smooth" at 1280 x 800 on medium settings with Physics & Textures on High settings. Roughly 20-35fps dependant on the action thats taking place. Not bad for a 7 series card. I have to say though since the patches have been released i have gotten an overall FPS increase due to me having an SLI GPU.
CryEngine was nothing more but nVidia TechDemo engine until Crysis was build for it. So peoples with Ati cards will be problems running Crysis for bit more time. Since its completely Optimized for nVidia. Meaning nVidia will most likely get out first card that can run Crysis maxed out with 30 + FPS. Of course that is no problem for peoples who demand bit more than your average FPS with great graphics from your games. I'll see about Crysis when I get it from discount shelf less than 10 €
I have the same setup as you. 1280x1024, PP medium/shadows medium and the rest on High (with hack for sun ray) I get 19-28FPS average. Which is playable.
I don't know what happened. Upon installing patch 1.1 and 1.2, Crysis can't be started. About the speed, you have much faster DDR2 and 2GB of them. You also overclocked the X2 but mine must be a chicken type. When overclocked to 2.2 Ghz, it causes noticable instability.:bang:
I always hear people say, "COD 4 runs just fine in high settings and it's BS that Crysis can't." Am I the only one that can see how much more in game complexity is involved in Crysis vs COD 4. COD 4 is a great game, but it's very easy to see the little special things that Crysis does that COD 4 doesn't have. This kind of realism has a cost and it's paid in frame rates.
Pigchild: no, you're nowhere close to the only one. one thing you can tell quite clearly that Crysis has a lot more of than CoD4...... FOLIAGE. and on top of that..... movable, destroyable foliage. also a rather far view distance.
