    ive been playing with this:

    http://www.overclock.net/t/1336895/ati-overdrive5

and is giving me a hard time about not being able to access ADL.

    but radeon pro works great...

does radeon pro lock out the atiadlxx.dll so other programs cant access it?

ah idk, you have their logo, thought they semi-hired you :nerd:.

New version looks fine on GW2, but i'll try to test more since its a pretty random issue.

It should work if RadeonPro is working. ADL is installed with Catalyst and it's not possible to lock ADL.

Unlocked 6950's so basically yeh. Stalker SoC only works if i disable steam overlay.

Please don't drop SweetFx... do we have to start a petition?

    Ok, thanks.

Can you test Stalker SoC without steam overlay?

It won't be completely dropped, I'll make it modular which means it will be installable separated from RP and anti-cheating tools will be able to detect that separated module and block it if needed instead of blocking RP by itself.

anyway can't wait for next release with working overclockability...:nerd::)

nice japamd...you are awesome...one step more...and ccc + ab will be gone for ever from people using rp... :D less programs less complexity...

Is anyone else getting a frozen desktop on boot? you know, when RP momentarily shows upon boot then the desktop will freeze.

i've got a strange behaviour with hbao in half life 2, when i switch it on the image became darker, a lot darker, it looks like there would be just an high contrasted image with low gamma correction

Sorry, HL2 wasn't supposed to be in AO database because as you can see, it isn't working at all.

Same in Dota 2 when the console window was up, from what I noticed.

Guys, unfortunately some testing profiles/settings/games made it into the ambient occlusion department that do not work. They simply don't. And japamd forgot to take them out of there. So yeah, right now only a few games work with AO. If you are not getting expected results (corners being darker etc) chances are the feature is not working for that game.

That does not seem fair. Specially since we're talking about the issue being for one game. If they are so strict with their game... then let them. I play a ton of other games online and none of them have caused any issues.

Seems like too much trouble to change things, when they are working fine, for a single game that has a problem with it. I seems like the users of that game, should just simply not use a profile for it. Maybe even put a warning up if they do.

I'll check out STALKER tomorrow and let you know.

BF3 seems to be in same ship from what I've heard. Others may join the boat if shaders start to be used in ways you and I can't think of now and that's the problem with Sweetfx. There are some effects you find on SFX package, but users can change them, for good or evil.

What you call unfair, I call safety. Better stay the way you just said, playing tons of online games without issues than having RP blacklisted due to shaders making modifications on online games. That's why I asked you guys about that matter.

Besides that, having SFX doing its magic on a separated module does not look so bad for me :)

IMO it's a good idea, that way i also can sweetfx GW (idk why default injector stopped working @ my system alone), so if you need testers... :).

And maybe even nvidia users can use dx11 sweetfx? depends of the amount of modularity/standalone from RP (idk, not that i care :p).

Sorry, it won't work that way. That SFX module will still need RP to be running with API monitoring on, it won't work as a standalone module.

Here are some pics of Ambient Occlusion effect with RP

I just copied the GTA IV profile to get Liberty city to work. To get GTA San Andreas to work all I had to do was set Buffer Index to 1

Maybe not perfectly tweaked yet, inside in Carl's crib there are some zigzag patterns observed.

Really powerful and easy to use! Thanks japamd for making this happen!
Because of you I will definitely go Radeon next time too!

Isbre, cool, I'll add those profiles in next build, thanks.

AO in GTA SA looks too strong, you might need to tweak it using optional parameters, nearZ and farZ controls that. Just type in Variables field observing the syntax

    variable:value [,variable:value, ...]

    For example:

    nearZ:100, farZ:5000

The AO debugging tool (that will be released soon) allows changing of those values in real time while showing the SSAO buffer into top/left corner over the color buffer (game screen), so you can see the effect of your changes in order to gather best values for the game and to choose correct index buffer without leaving the game.

I was trying to set AO in Skyrim and got it working at half, for some reason RP can get depth buffer data only if using 3rd person view in Skyrim, if I change to 1st person view then depth buffer data is lost. Too bad I have no clue why this is happening.

Also, I made a few tests and looks like some DX10 games aren't working if in-game MSAA is set, maybe that explains why some people aren't able to see AO effects in some games.

Edit: added your screenshots to SSAO gallery at imgur.com, I hope you don't mind.

is there any chance to get AO working on half life 2 and in general on those application not currently supported?

does AO work with dx10/11 application?
