Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.9.3 Highlights

    Support For

    • Total War: WARHAMMER™ II
      • Radeon Chill profile added
      • Multi GPU support enabled
    • Forza™ Motorsport 7
    Fixed Issues

    • The drop-down option to enable Enhanced Sync may be missing in Radeon Settings on Radeon RX Vega Series Graphics Products.
    • ReLive may cause higher idle clocks on the secondary Radeon RX Vega Series Graphics Product in a multi-GPU configuration on certain AMD Ryzen based systems.
    • Negative scaling in F1™ 2017 may be observed on Radeon RX 580 Series Graphics products in multi-GPU system configurations.
    Known Issues

    • Unstable Radeon WattMan profiles may not be restored to default after a system hang. A workaround is to launch Radeon WattMan after reboot and restore settings to default.
    • Wattman may fail to apply user adjusted voltage values on certain configurations.
    • Radeon Settings may not populate game profiles after Radeon Software's initial install.
    • Overwatch™ may experience a random or intermittent hang on some system configurations.
    • GPU Scaling may fail to work on some DirectX®11 applications.
    • Secondary displays may show corruption or green screen when the display/system enters sleep or hibernate with content playing.
    • Bezel compensation in mixed mode Eyefinity cannot be applied.
    • When recording with Radeon ReLive on Radeon RX Vega Series graphics products GPU usage and clocks may remain in high states.
    Package Contents

The Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.9.3 installation package contains the following:

    • Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.9.3 Driver Version 17.30.1091.1011 (Windows Driver Store Version 22.19.677.256)

What are these useless updates ? Really, instead of trying somehow to optimise the existing game, to squish out every performance from Vega or from older GCN 1.0 cards like HD 77xx+, they release a driver with 2 supported games and 3 "little" fixes. I feel that AMD should make a little "underhood" updates, maybe Radeon Crimson 18 can have that, and those, at idle or startup to update "itself" with this kind of "sh#t" updates...AMD, you can do more, still rocking an HD7750 at record overclock(number 1 on gpubenchmark)

@D1stRU3T0R Those under the hood updates needs time and a lot of work, and they might be working on it right now.
Releasing a driver which week with small improvements, doesn't mean they don't have people working on another branch.
And what type of update were you expecting since the last driver was exactly a week ago?

AMD Big driver releases usually come 2 times a year, so probably to the winter if we are lucky.
    Cheers

    XML and INF comparison. :)

    17.9.2
    22.19.677.1 from September 18th.

    17.9.3
    22.19.677.257 from September 22nd.

So yeah going by that this looks like a very minor update probably mainly adding support for those two games while in the process they also added some recent known issues.

    HKR,, KMD_TurboSyncControl

Was added to the [ati2mtag_RemoveDeviceSettings] section when comparing the INF files.

For the atiapfxx.blb file when converted to a XML (Via Atiapfxx.exe -r -sys -s test.xml to dump test.xml as a copy of atiapfxx.blb into the Windows\SysWoW64 folder.)

    These were added to Chill.

    As were these.

So Chill support for Evil Within 2, Total War Warhammer 2, Mordor 2 Shadow of War, Destiny 2 and Wolfenstein 2 New Colossus (Next Colossus?)

For Crossfire there's a new profile for Call of Duty World War II

And for PUBG the Crossfire profile was updated.

Warhammer Total War 2 and Call of Duty World War 2 also had DXX profiles added.

Call of Duty World War 2 in addition also had a PXDynamic profile added. ("HighPerfGPUAffinity" for the MP and SP exe files which AFAIK sets the driver to prefer the dedicated GPU.)

That's about it, Chill also has two test profiles for the new black and white list system.

(And of course the games in the above Chill list.)

And then the SP and MP profiles for COD WW2 for Crossfire.

EDIT: All those sequels supported (In various forms.) and they couldn't have squeezed it into 17.9.2 ? Ha ha.
(This is only a few days newer going by the INF file date after all.)

(And it looks like I missed a few bugfixes for the driver in addition to the game support listed in the release notes, oops well at least there's more to the driver than just game profiles as far as the changelog shows and some new known issues.)

    EDIT:

Only one additional known issue after a quick comparison and this one has been mentioned for a couple of driver releases so it's not new for 17.9.3
(Polaris GPU series issue? Voltage can be adjusted but when checked monitoring software displays the default or old value as the one that's used I think it was? Possibly more than just Polaris GPU's affected?)

So, we have new Driver :D
17.9.1 & 17.9.2 have no brutal issues for my RIG ;) (besides Vulcan Tweak, IMO it will be mandatory for DOOM)

    UPD.
17.9.3 is The Fastest All'time Driver from ATI i have ever installed for my Fury!

So far so good, haven't stressed it much (BF4) but seems stable enough. Updated through 17.9.1, 2. & now 3. had to enable FPS limit 300, was 200 previously. As well as the Power limit to 50% under Global WattMan. TriXX 6.4 working fine, bump on gpu voltage 15%. Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X. Hard to tell of course when your fps is above refresh rates.

It wasn't such a long time ago that people complained how some AAA game could be weeks old, yet there wasn't an optimised driver from AMD out for it. Nothing forces you to install these drivers of little difference, especially if you aren't playing the games mentioned, but I'm sure these will make happy those who happen to like new games. Personally, I'm only updating the drivers every now and then, when I feel like it. But then again, I'm not a heavy gamer and mostly play a bit older games. It doesn't exactly drive me crazy I get a brief new driver available notice in the corner of the screen when I launch Windows.

I will give these a whirl, 17.9.1 are great on my system but 17.9.2 not so good, lose 10+ fps in prey 2017 and stutters in fifa 17/18

Weak driver. No wddm 2.3 support. Ver 1709 rs4 17004 build. Nvidia is far ahead again. :'(

Support and utilisation are two different things. It's only available on skip-ahead branch, the NVidia WDDM 2.3 drivers only download on this branch, and people have reported stutter issues.

This Crimson 17.9.3 may contain other changes, they never list a complete commit list, only key points.

And again a black screen and not completing the install, now with code "thread stuck in device driver".

No crossfire for me for a while it seems..

Must be why I haven't seen oddball errors, as I only use Firefox. Also, one of the senior devs for Mozilla Firefox hangs in my chatroom, so I forward him FireFox bugs on AMD whenever encountered. He also owns AMD. Probably why Firefox doesn't have bugs. ;)

I'm guessing you haven't updated your profile info. That error can be several things, have you tried the clean install option of the setup? Overclocking can be fickle as well, it can be stable in all tests but cause issues with certain operations.
