Yes and if you turn OFF AMD External Events Utility in Services, you may experience Long duration Loading Times of: Steam/UPLAY & Origin -> Leave it Auto :)

Has AMD given an update on poor performance in Civ6? The Fury X is running slower than the GTX 1060.
I realize they'll likely release DX12 for Civ6 at some point (it was planned to launch with it, but didn't), but performance in DX11 is still so poor that it should be fixed.

Performance is fine with MY GPU on Civ6. I'm sure that comparisons with NVIDIA will not be favorable until the DX12 port is out, but it's not like you need millisecond reaction times for the game. MSAA is the great killer. I disabled it and enabled SMAA with an injector, the game runs fine.

This isn't a game where a high FPS is of the utmost important, but the framerate still gets low during the later turns and it shows when moving around the map.

I'd rather not allow them to be lazy simply because this isn't a racing game or a FPS. I'd prefer if they told us why AMD cards are much slower.

I hope a driver will help me play smoothly skyrim special edition, it runs like cr@p at exterior with all that godrays etc. Nevertheless great experience it's almost modlike.

    Idk, i tested it @ ULTRA / 1920x1200,

With an R9 290 / FX 8350 @ 4.6 GHz, Game seems to be CPU Limited, runs from 30 to 60fps depending on scene/viewport, gpu is mostly idle .. but it eats 2 cpu cores.

Still can't run anything newer than 16.5.1 on a 7730m without crashes during and after boot. I wonder if the jump from Vulkan 1.0.8 to 1.0.26 is the cause.

Uninstall the Vulkan runtime and check. I bet it doesn't. Have you tried DDU? What happens exactly when you say "crash"?

The "Fury" GPU though is also a lot more powerful compared to the "7000" series. :)

EDIT: Ah I see a Fury GPU was mentioned too after re-reading a bit. :D

I just noticed now AMD fixed a bug in this driver which i reported early october. The bug was there for one year but no one apparently reported it before, haha. Nice done.

I finally was able to reproduce the idle clock bug. It's still there.

It's a minor glitch was affecting those with VCE1/2 to record with Win10DVR since Catalyst 15.7. Most users than faced the problem apparently dont know it was AMD driver related issue.

This issue was also present when trying to record with OBS, it was incredibly annoying.

    I've been DDUing for months.

The laptop will freeze shortly after the display driver component is installed. If I install through safe mode, Windows won't be able to finish loading after a reboot and will effectively bootloop.

Haven't been able to reliably identify the issue in the event logs just tons of "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered." and "The AMD External Events Utility service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." messages.
