The codec pack or the codec from the MS Store?

The Kaza Codec has no relation to the Chrome Hardware Acceleration or Decoding. it is just some Lav Filters,DirectVobSub,MPC Video Renderer.Media Player Classic Homecinema

What's interesting to me is why the 2160p60fps HDR doesn't work properly even when we have GPU support and Hardware acceleration. and also why is youtube becomes terribly slow. no one have that issue? give it 2min, read comments and see how it becomes pause/play and fullscreen/windows terribly slow.

    just installed

for the first time after the setup I had to manually enable freesync in the display TAB

now hitting alt+R I see a big panel instead the smallest previous one, hat to spend 15 minutes to figure where to choose the items in the overlay

red dead 2 seem to be better with previous 21.7.1 but I will try more next days

How do you get the 8K resolution option for those videos? It only shows up to 4K for me.

    I know that.
I asked because you quoted everything, that's all.

I can say for sure that the slugginess you mention is present on my system as well.
Non-HDR 4K@64fps YouTube videos aren't doing so good.

    Edit:

    Also 1080p@60fps is lagging.
While changing between browser tabs, when you go back to the YouTube page, the video is not there, I have to scroll up and down a couple of times for it to appear again.

    Edit 2:

Disabling HW Acceleration on the browser fixes the issue.

    100% it's a driver issue.

Something is seriously ****** up with the driver. Enabling HDR/Disabling HDR randomly cause the computer to freeze. how do I know? Every time I need to reset my computer the AMD reset it's overclock settings. I tried like 10 overclock settings that worked perfectly with 21.5.2 and it only happens when trying to use the Windows HDR/OS HDR, AMD HDR in movies works perfectly fine while just 1 sec after I try to enable Windows HDR it goes into monitor lose signal and I need to reset!! It NEVER EVER HAPPENED with any other driver!!!! It also happened with the UWP Driver which is exactly the same!

It doesn't happen in-game, it can happen straight after windows load! it's not like I load the GPU. it's a bloody bug with the drivers, causing a Freeze loop to the system and signal loss.

Just a heads up for anyone playing Tarkov or getting black screen crashing in any other game. I did an upgrade install to 21.9.1 and all my benchmarks were stable but this morning I jumped into Tarkov and it was black screen crashing my PC in the menus. I did a quick DDU, fresh install, and now it is running perfectly; no crashes. People might want to do a fresh DDU install of these drivers if they are experiencing any crashing I guess.

I reinstalled the driver using DDU and AMD full clean option.

I won't overclock now, just DEFAULT. I won't turn on the VSR.

And I'll see if it happens. if it still happens then it's an issue with the driver, it happened with the UWP same driver version so it will happen with this one because they are the same.

Not to say that DDU in safe mode/AMD Full Clean Option was @X7007 fix.
However, I've learned through the years that when new features are added to AMD Radeon Software it's best to do a fresh install via the methods mentioned earlier.

I know, it just never ever happened to me with any of the other drivers until now. it's driving me insane.

    HDR issues
    MKV movies issues

And if I go back to an older driver I lose support for the newest games and VR stuttering. I mean they need to fix 1 driver with no bugs that I can actually use the freaking card. What is so bloody hard? how do you make new drivers and screwing all other things that worked fine for 9 drivers before!! We paid money we deserve the proper drivers or else just let the company drop dead. because we support them with money and they MUST support with drivers or else this card doesn't work any damn $1 because you can't use it for anything without drivers. I'm just sick of being the debugger here for no worth and wasting my time instead of actually just use the damn thing.

No such thing as bug free software when you have millions of hardware combinations and OS version variants

Right, but the thing is the Drivers happens in all variants. it's like saying they are testing it on ARM and you use x64. so what's the point of testing anything if 90% uses x64? the whole point it's not the variants with hardware, it's when something worked forever and then it doesn't!

It doesn't happen to me. it stays %15

Hmmm... I did a fresh install with DDU so I don't know what else to do; happy it works for you but pretty annoyed it doesn't work for me.

Worked forever means nothing, you are on a rolling release OS. What works one day May be broken the next, a simple change on Microsoft's side with WDDM can totally screw something that previously was fine with your drivers. It happens and it is always going to happen, price you pay for the windows as a service scheme of Windows 10 and Windows 11

HDR display is also ran through windows WDDM so HDR issues with AMD software can be just as much a Microsoft issue as it is AMDs. Nvidia has had there own set of on going bugs for months I've just learned to live with it

The understanding is there is a route for everything. I am just being technical. would you want to buy a $1500 GPU and not being able to play your games at the quality you paid to play? I'm just asking a simple question. now you can get over and say that and that. but the simple point is you paid money and you didn't get what you paid for. Who to blame? us? drivers? Microsoft? motherboard? ram? you can blame everyone. the point is not blaming, just FIX IT, and to fix 1 bug takes 4 months is not something rational. especially when every bug that happens after it worked fine before! and I can go back to 21.5.2 and all the bugs will disappear even if windows had updates.

with VSR disabled and only Power %15 and no overclock just setting minimum 2409 and max 2509 with no MEM overclock. HDR works fine without the issue happening anymore OR the DDU helped. I will need to overclock the MEM again to see if it happens.

I have no idea what happened but after several shutdowns / restarts my power limit is now holding so I guess that isn't an issue anymore...

One thing I have noticed is this version of the Radeon Software is that it loves to crash. Never had a problem with it and now it is crashing left and right!

I hate do admit it, beacuse I do like AMD a lot, but for my many years of nvidia drivers I have NEVER run in to any issue at all with my old GTX 970. With Vega 64 every couple of months something bad happens, driver related.
