Because I do not use the same cap for every game.

Also there seem to be games where frtc doesn't work such as Quake 3 Arena, for some reason.
Capping with RTSS works.

I thought maybe OpenGL was the reason but the FRTC cap works fine in Darkplaces in OGL mode for example.

In some cases I might prefer the ingame limiter too if available, so would be good to be able to set for such games FRTC to Off.

 

I dont want everything set globally.
Some things i test that i dont want capped at all.
Per game profiles would be really nice.
And 32:9 VSR for us 1080p plebs.

 

You can always have per-game via Chill
Chill is working very good now, set 60-60 etc....

 

I've found using DXVK on my DX games works much better in regards to game performance with low latency. I can just set VSync with FreeSync, and it's smooth as butter, and all the FreeSync benefits. No hitching as the FPS goes to max and below again like it does with DX, so I have no need for a frame cap below maxfps.

 

Those drivers simply rock. I am just happy. Thanks to AMD and their programmers, they did a great job. Now, in future, i expect, that they fix error on freesync. Then i can live with less FPS. Thanks! Ah here and please keep idle mode on 164hz. The Drivers that start with a "30" seem not supporting it. Thanks AMD! Know what i mean.....if you dont behave, i gonna buy NVIDIA.

164hz idle mode. Mem stuck on full power. AMD knows what i talk about. Do you want your RAM run 100% when you watch a livestream of football for example? NO, you dont want it. This takes unnecessary power from your unit and here. We had floods in Germany here. Does it make it better, when you are able, to prevent giving thing 100% power for nothing? Those new drivers that start with 30 wont lower RAM power on watching streams. Besides the heat, all absorbs onto other PC components inside the PC-Case. And surely ruins the RAM day by day?! Even if you only watch streams? If you run your system just so, watching stream, the inner PC case of yours gets HOT for nothing. Sorry for my bad english, i do not come from England. But you know, what i mean.

Just reading about the mods for FidelityFX Super Res, and how two projects can make it easy to add it to your existing games. One allows it to work with any game running Vulkan (and yes DXVK counts) and another mod is for SteamVR.

This allows you to have any Vulkan driven game have full settings for FidFX upscaling from any resolution you set up. This should pretty much blow DLSS into obscurity, since DXVK Async makes it easy to convert DX9-11 games into Vulkan.

I experience it occasionally on my 5700 XT, more often on Opera than Edge. Makes no sense why it happens either. I fix it by restarting the driver using CRU (the monitor firmware editing utility). And then hardware acceleration works again as expected.

 

Idk I tried it once in Control by setting the caps equal and it didn't work at all, frame rate was all over the place and went over the capped value. Think that was driver 21.5.1.
Haven't tried it since so could retry now but initial experience wasn't good.

 

21.7.2 is out.

Installed it. Works good so far.

 

He's talking about Windows 11, WDDM 3.0 drivers, that start with 30.xx.xx.xx. instead of current 27.xx.xx.xx

 

Any fix for the stuttering in cod warzone?
I ve been stuck with 21.2.3 ever since i got the rx 580 because of the stuttering happening after installing new drivers, thx
