So AMD is getting creamed in the mainstream segment and their response is to release refreshes with worse value than the original line-up, I guess who need marketshare when profit margin is way up.

€830 for the ASUS ROG Strix 3070 seems to be the MSRP here in the Netherlands. Price has been stable at that number since March 20th.

The ROG Strix 3060 Ti is actually rising in price again, currently back up to €750.

AMD prices for similar variants are even higher.

    So ****ed up.

yeah 3070 Ti is almost close to 3060 TI in EU thanks to that cancer called miners. The day cryptos become illegal in NA or EU I will buy a nice bottle..

So funny to see ppl that think companies exist, to make you happy.
No one said "no lube, bend over".
    You buy, or you dont.
The ppl with the funds will, like everyone does (when they have the money to buy, whatever it is).

Just because i will (probably) never have the funds to buy a Bugatti/Mansion etc,
doesnt mean i will sour it for the ppl that do.
If you funds dont support buying a gpu? Guess what, then dont, save up (what ppl used to do to buy things),
and buy when you can get a deal...

Sort of an odd sentiment--I gather you haven't seen AMD's latest record-breaking quarterly report. It was something around $5.3B not counting some Xilinx income that pushed the total quarter to $5.9B. In her comments, Dr. Su explained that they had significant increases in the Radeon GPU segments. I don't think AMD will be having any market share problems anytime soon.

I just bought an RX-6900XT from AMD direct for MSRP--believe it or not. I love this card...I waited for well over a year to buy a 6800XT--could not get it at MSRP, so I bought a 6700XT GB Eagle at close to MSRP--but now the wife has it, and I've got the 6900XT...Such a nice, strong 4k card...;) Really impressed with it. AMD seems to be celebrating, seems to me, and I think the company has good reason to do so. It's one heck of a first quarter, imo. Now that the materials shortage is ending, the sky is the limit for AMD, pretty much.

    proves his statement 100%
profits are way up for the company, value goes way down for the consumer.

I swear to god amd owners are the only ones I've seen to cheer for the company when they're getting ripped off.Where does that come from ? The fear of amd going down in the last decade must have been so strong that now that they're offering mid range at 700eur people are happy to pay that.

When I bought my 6900xt direct, the same money could have bought a 3070ti instead, so the green team has been doing a lot of ripping off too.

well not if you bougth 3070ti direct

nvidia rips off the same,no difference.
my 3060ti was the single worst purchase i've ever made in terms of value per dollar, but 6700xt was even worse.

Isn't AMD direct queue system rigged towards Team Red member?

    red.png

So AMD is paying their outspoken customers with chances to buy their GPU at MSRP, great tactic

i dont get why people are complaining at the prices, they are what they are, its supply and demand, NV, AMD, Intel are not charities they are companies that have shareholders. What they make are luxury items, not life necessities, I didnt really want to pay £40k for my car but quess what, thats what they cost and they are pretty much made to order so zero chance of a discount, if i wanted one i pay what they are asking, or move along. Guys, endless bleating about prices and availability wont change a thing and things wont change.
Dont be that person sat outside Costa Coffee drinking a £5 latte and smoking cigarettes costing £12 a pack while complaining about the price of vegetables.

Companies cannot rip you off if you dont buy. Plain and simple. :D

Quite frankly, I'm not really sure there is enough supply out there. If there was, prices would be lower.

there isn't enough for companies to have record income while the prices for the consumers are reasonable.
they can only continue to hhave record income if we pay way more than msrp

Nvidia direct looks to be USA, Canada and Mexico only, so a airplane ticket needs to be added on top of the price.
