What a joke this has become, increasing prices each generation.
Buying a new GPU in 2022 is like buying a Ferrari.

Yeah, f@ck AMD, f@ck Nvidia for these GPU price policies! Also f@ck Intel if they intend to do the same! And also last but not least f@ck the GPU criptomining!

Considering the lacking RT performance, I'd have only considered an AMD card if the price was very attractive, but it seems to be AMD's policy to force it not to be. But then again, it would feel kind of stupid to pay premium for old gen tech at this point anyway. Based on all the rumours, the new gen will trample the old considerably. So, if I were to buy AMD 6000 or Nvidia 3000 series now, the price should start to be discounted! Instead I still see extra added on top of what they should be, compared to the beginning of last year.

In the current climate, these prices are understandable. A year ago prices were more than double that. Coming off a severe drought in GPU availability, as a business, they have to milk consumers for whatever they can.

Aside from RT, the 6950xt looks like it will wipe the floor vs the 3090ti which is a $2000 card. Still, with new gen not far off, would be silly to pay these sort of prices.

If 6800 was available at msrp no one would buy 6750xt but amd knows its not so why not increase the prices, right?

Right now, RDNA2 accounts only for 0.6% of GPUs in the Steam hardware survey.
I'm guessing AMD wants to keep these numbers as low as they can

As bad as these msrp prices look I'd be happy if I could actually get one at these prices 6750xt at msrp is about 705$cad I can barely get a 6600 for that price currently....

the issue with new generation trampling, is that new generation will be way more expensive than the 3000 series.
I expect at least a 20% on msrp segment by segment

Could be, but ppl may just change their buying habits. They can just skip a gen (as many of us did last couple years) and go for the next one. So even if RDNA3 or RTX4000 are 20% more, it may be a more worthwhile upgrade that we can appreciate.

Nvidia sold hundred of thousands FE cards at MSRP, you just have to live in the US and close to a Best Buy :D

I am guessing there may not be a lot of these cards available.

We will never see GPU prices as low as they were 3-4 years ago.
These prices a the new normal.

Only way prices go down is to not buy a GPU for a couple of generations. That will not happen.

First come first served is how a que works. It's a long slog due to demand if you got in late.
And by late I mean you didnt sign up within hours of the que opening up.

EVGA lists GPU's on and off on their website these days, some SKU's are available now and no longer in the que.
