    Hi,

    I have a Radeon RX 480 - yeah, old I know

Thing is, I am trying to update my graphics driver but I keep getting the 1604 error message appearing all the time when I try and install Adrenalin 2020. I have attempted to follow tutorials online and on YouTube but to no avail. I'm now resigned to the fact that I will never get this card working again.

If any of you guys have any idea on what I can try to do in order to successfully get a driver installed for my card, that would be awesome. Do you need and of my PCs specs?

    Thanks for looking!

    Chris.

Hi, and, without the PC specs, there is a big "hit or miss" thing, but I want to ask:
Have you used a modified BIOS on that card?
If so, flash back the original BIOS, it might be why you cant install the drivers.

Remove amd driver via control panel
    Use ddu in safe mode
Install new drivers (while having internet disabled) so microsoft wont force their install

I repeatedly used to get this with my old RX 480. Sometimes it has actually installed even if it displays the error - restart and might actually have the driver anyway. If not, DDU with internet disabled usually fixes it but often took 2 or 3 attempts. I swore a lot when updating drivers.
