CPU will bottleneck your card by a lot, you should upgrade to some cheap Core2 and overclock it by lots imo.
How do you set the fan speed ? Also, can you set the shader speed independently as you can on the 8800GT's ? Thnx
I think you cant OC SHaders. You can edit profile file to set fan speed. Now it is set to 30% IDLE : 60C LOAD : 84C So i guess i can OC It more right ? IT was designed to take 100C at least ? Make sure your PC isnt close to some wall or something , card needs space to blow the hot air , my PC was very close to wall and i had higher temperatures than now on 45% FAN, 30% is not laud soo i just leave it that way. Will try higher OC later, allmost 8500 GPU score now in Vantage.
IMO; no...and I wouldn't even try that card with that PSU. It may be good enough, but, I wouldn't trust it.

Anyone havin a problem getting the CCC to work with the 8.6? I have tried like hell to get this thing to work.I have xp home with SP3 and the CCC program installs but will not launch,Thought it might be a sp3 problem so I rolled back to SP2 with no luck,I have also tried the 8.5 CCC with the 8.6 vid driver with no luck......What a bummer!!:bang: Im almost at the piont to reformat.:thumbdown anyone have a similar problem like this? BTW when I launch the program I get a "Command line interface" error.
Think I'm gonna order a 4870 now. Would it be better to use the reference cooler cause its dual-slot or my ThermalTake DuOrb?
You should put it down until you're ready to build. It's going to get all sweaty if you keep holding it!
I tried to leave my 4870 on my desk for one day. Then i bought a system for it the next day. painful to not to run it
More i use this card more satysfied i am , honestly i wanst even hoping for such a good change, sometimes upgrading nvidia card was causing problems. Big supries on the good side I am playing on low res 1280x1024 , soo i basicaly set max possible IQ i can. Even crysis is working with 4xAA and 16AF at this resoultion , big supprise I am soo happy with the card/drivers performace. I can only recommend it
Cant run on higher, i have 17" LCD,but i am not going to upgrade , i like this LCD, picture quiality is high. you can look it up some where Samsung 173P Plus(+).
