Today is the day that AMD releases their Cayman series graphics cards. Yes Sir the all new high-end segmented Radeon HD 6950 and 6970. Of course we'll be discussing the new GPU embedded on these graphics...

Great review as always hilbert , Thank you. I always trust your reviews and always are a #1 for me to read yours because you are unbias and you tell it like it is  , awsome Job Boss. Im very dissapointed on this cards , even my old 480GTX trade blows with the 6970xt  , i want it a new toy from ATI but NOT this time , i will have to wait until next generation ATI Cards and see what they bring.

    Mr Godfather Hilbert,

Is it possible to show the individual GFX tests results from 3D11?
Adds another dimension to compare :nerd:

Guess there are no point for me to upgrade this year since my card is still ok for the current gen and the Nvidia is way too expensive for my liking.

The 6970 is about 25% more powerful than what you have now. Well... there's a number for you.

hmm... I guess it could be drivers..

Ultimately no reason to upgrade from my 5870 then.

As of 1:16am EST it looks like 5 vendors selling 6970s on newegg and all are still in stock..

    So... when's the 7970 coming out? :)

    **********

To be fair though.. it's competitive and well priced. If I was shopping I would consider it. Game profiles would sweaten the deal though.

AMD so did not foresee the GTX500 series let's just end it at that. This was more of a response than a leap.

Hmmm, a bit disappointed here, probably the performance will be increased in the future by driver support. Probably I'll skip this 1 as well, will wait for HD 7000 series ;) Thx Hilbert, great review as usual :)

Personally, I think for me the Radeon HD 6850 is the best bet, though I'll wait to see if the prices drop, $180 is still too high a price for me.

The 6950 oc's just as badly as the 6870, very disappointing.

That's what I was thinking. It's exactly within my price range, overclocked offers almost double the performance of my 4870 and I need to replace this card anyway.

I really don't understand it when people say drivers will boost performance, like they'll do miracles.
