In collaboration with ATI and HIS we will test the Radeon HD 5770 in single and a CrossfireX Multi-GPU setup. It's a product that performance wise positions itself directly in-between the Radeon 4850...

    Thanks, Hilbert. Great review.

You expected more, but I think this product is great. It outperforms the 4850 and sometimes even the 4870. Looks like a fantastic price/performance ratio to me. :)

The price gap is indeed large. No doubt a 5790 and/or 5830 can fill that gap. ;)

Hm... HD4890 or HD5850 looks more appealing to me, than this... The only thing bad about HD5850 is it's price. Hopefully it will go down later on...

so this is for just power saving and dx11 i guess cus they have the 4850 and 4870 in this price range already and it does not show much improvement over those two cards.
its good that its fairly cheap and not more then the other older cards they have without dx11

That memory bandwidth is killing the card. It needs more bandwidth for decent performance.

Problem is for the price you spend $50 more and get the 5870 instead of crossfire and have similiar results.

They need to lower the HD5775 price because I would rather add 50 or so more dollars to grab a HD5850 instead if I was looking for a new card. Then paying 150-169 dollars for the HD5775. IF I had to spend less, I would rather grab a HD4870 instead.

Yea I also agree with you as well dudecat64.

The thing is if you cant afford the extra 50 and you would be better off buying a HD5850 instead any way. I personally rather buy one faster card now then Buying a slower one and then the same one again for the speed of the one I couldnt afford. If I can hold off I would save up til I can get the faster single card. This would be if I was looking for a upgrade and didn't have the card I had now as well if money grew on trees.

A very decent card but i would also pay the extra € for the 5850.

The gap in performance is to big between the two and the 5850 is going to last much more than the 5770 in terms of future upgrade.

I think that ATI needs to release a card that performs and costs between the 5770 and the 5850.

Now, if only the 5850 could lower the price under 200€, so i could get one...

    That's my problem though. :D

$50 may seem like not a lot of money to some, but considering the little performance difference to me atleast, it's not worth the extra $50. If I had the $50 to begin with, I'd go with the 5870 then.

    Great review as always.
I also looked at alot of other reviews, and this thing gets stomped by the GTX260 and 4870 in most games.
Not sure what DX11 will bring and some newer drivers, but with a small price cut its for sure a great card.
Only a few games does it shine, they are calling out its 128bit DDR5 as the problem.

Hey people. Now I really need expert comments. I am supposed to buy GTX 260 in may.
But I read that GT300 series is coming out on October. So I made myself forcefully understand that 1st see the 300 then buy. Now I am still with my 9600GT. I curse that day.

After that I heard the Crap nvidia is not planing to release the card this year. Mother F****R's. Then I see radeons offer. 5870 and 5850 was really promising. I thought 5770 will be at least as good as OC 4870 and GTX 260. But it isnt which makes me fill like a Jackass. Why didnt I get GTX 260 in may I could have thought that even 5770 is not in my league. Although it is almost 2X of my 9600GT but i can invest same amount for money to get a better card. I am not sure that how much DX 11 is important now. As in DX 11 (battle forge) 5770 does pretty good. with drive improvements it might surpass 4870 but I am not sure about GTX 260.

People I only have 170$. I need to pick from These three.
    1. HD 5770 160$
    2. HD 4890 170$
    3. GTX 260 150$ all from newegg.

    I want to use the card at least till 2011 Feb. I game at 1680 X 1050 to 1920 X 1080
With max setting (except few games) and 2XAA - 8XAF. Please guide me coz I am almost getting crazy now. I need to order the now with in a week.

Please, Please, Please, Help me out.
