In the Netherlands Salland aDutch e-tailer inserted the all new RV790 based Radeon HD 4890 1024 MB in their database on preorder. The e-tailer hasa bit of a reputation for doing this consistently with... More...
So how reliable are those infos they "accidentally" release on their web site? Is the pricing correct most of the times, for example (judging by previous "leaks")?
I'm a loyal customer of them for years and never had a problem, even with RMA. I had to RMA an HD3850, but i lost the original box. No problem, they said and got a new card.
Oh? Really? I have bought several things from them and didn't have any trouble yet. /me knocks on wood.
Even if it's the same price in USD that's still $330 CAD, that's how much I ordered the GTX280 for, now I don't regret not waiting the extra 3 weeks.
Neo could u PM me where u bought ur VGA online? 330$ CAN for a GTX280 is pretty cheap. right now i think its no more available since it got replaced by the GTX 285. the GTX 295 is priced at 630-650$ CAN its crazy --> 1.00 USD = 1.27008 CAD :S uke2:
Here is a reply I posted a while ago: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=2956015#post2956015 Salland actually offered the 940 for 277 at the time of introduction, but now sells it for 214. So, I think they initially do not set the prices too low. On the contrary. They are often too high at the time of introduction. In general the site offers fairly priced products compared to other sites a while after introduction.
It was a surprise sale by NCIX, those in the mailing list were sent a list of items on sale which are not listed on the site. Here is the link to the GTX280: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=30770&promoid=1066 The sale is over but the price hasn't changed and there are still 4 left, maybe it has to do with the timezone being different in the west coast. Add it to your cart and complete the order quickly before it goes back to the normal retarded price of $528, no one is going to pay that, lol. But you do realize that the rest of your rig would heavily bottleneck it, right? How did you manage to lose the box?
no Neo lol, this rig is an ancient P4 on AGP ! im preparing my Core i7 build so i might buy that GTX 280 now then im april-may buy the rest of the rig. thanks!
nah pretty much 90% sure it will be a cross between a GTX 260 and 280/285, aka, a GTX 295 with only one GPU on it
A cross? A GTX295 with 1 GPU would pretty much be a GTX280, there is barely any difference in speeds. GTX295: 576MHz Core, 1242MHz Shader, 1998MHz (999MHz) RAM, 55nm x2 GTX280: 602MHz Core, 1296MHz Shader, 2214MHz (1107MHz) RAM, 65nm GTX285: 648MHz Core, 1476MHz Shader, 2484MHz (1242MHz) RAM, 55nm
