1440p is too much for vega56 and this game. Your system is fine.
There are some FidelityFX options in the graphic settings in CP2077 (at least for me on 6800xt) which would allow dynamic and static resolution changes + sharpen and upscaling ("semi" DLSS without the AI stuff). That on the other hand could yield better performance with slight degradation of the quality.... however >
1. not sure if it is available on non-RDNA2
2. currently this feature is borked as it immediately crashes the game (not that it bothers me cause I don't need it anyway).
But if it's theoretically also available on Vega or RDNA1 then it should help improve the framerate (once it works that is).
Those FidelityFX settings don't make my game crash with my XFX RX5700XT Thicc III.
Good to know! So it is either a driver / RDNA2 combo with CP2077 or an issue with CP2077 itself..... since it is quite buggy I cannot exclude this possibility.
Anyone else with RDNA2 card able to confirm an issue with latest drivers + CP2077 + FidelityFX activated (CAS, no matter which one) and an immediate crash in game (needs to be after character creation) ???
@wuest3nfuchs try to play a little bit with the FidelityFX settings in CP2077.... this will lower die Quality slightly but improve the performance.
Thx @PrEzi will try it out immediately and report back asap !
Seeing more and more reports about Oculus Link not working with these drivers (just saw 5 reports about it today). Can only imagine the reports will peak around Christmas.
Does anyone know if AMD has any plans on fixing this before then, if AMD or Oculus are even working together on a solution, or who's at fault? I'm luckily not playing any newer games that benefit from the latest drivers and can sit and wait on 20.11.1, but I imagine this situation sucks for others (especially anyone playing CP2077).
Well.... it is in the official known issues... so yes... they are working on it....
That's minor comfort since it took them 2 driver releases to even knowledge it (it's only noted on 20.11.3 and 20.12.1; I reported this same day that 20.11.2 WHQL released), and not too encouraging it only apparently affects 2 "lower-priority" generation GPUs. But I'm mainly just ranting at this point.
Tried out some changes on the graphics option and looks good and runs over 50fps!
But also overclocked vega56 a bit.
Next thing is trying out Fidelity FX .
ninja can you post those links about dying 580s, really don't wanna dead gfx card over holidays.
I don't know if they have a better or different source, but I saw some mentions about this on Reddit.
I have a 580 and used these drivers for about 10 minutes without issue.
WARNING - These drivers seem to ignore voltage profiles on the 580. Watch out if you have a custom fan curve.
I apply a massive undervolt with a silent fan profile, and luckily, I had set the fans to max out once the temp hits 86ºC, which quickly made me aware of this issue.
The 580 should just underclock once it reaches 89ºC, but I'm not surprised if this was the final nail on some cards that were probably already dying.
EDIT: Went back to 20.11.2 and it turns out Parsec streaming software causes the voltage issue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Cyberpunk 2077 appears not to support AMD SMT?
Here is the article + fix >
Yes some people with rx400/500 complaining about new driver issues but they not sure what caused instabilities/black screens. I’ll stick with previous one, just wanted to try Cyberpunk with optimised driver.
I got 1.04 hotfix installed since yesterday... GOG ver. via Gog galaxy.
Not sure what you mean.
Still no news about the Anniversary driver..weird.
It was in my steam version 1.04 .. i have hex'd the exe but not ran the game yet
i did notice that 6-8 threads were doing nothing before
Is it going to have a different look again? or something else special?
I dont think they are gonna change the look again...probably many bug fixes and new stuff.
