FYI, this is already fixed in newer driver

  4. Ridiculous. Had a feeling I should have just went NVIDIA before buying another RX 580 a few months ago. There had better be some significant improvement or reason on AMD's end as to why this has been broken the last 4-5 driver releases.

hello, I installed it here 20.12.1 and it is working OK with my RX VEGA56 and my Ryzen 5/1600, I would also like to mention that I noticed a new feature in the resources tab, it is called "Large memory gap" this appeared after I installed this driver and updated my motherboard BIOS for version 2409 with the resize-BAR (SAM) option enabled, I hope it will give you performance gains, I know that I am with first generation Ryzen who does not support this technology, but it is enabled and apparently working fine!

They finally fixed the cosmetic 800MHz idle core clock speed. Can't believe it took them more than a year. :p

Thanks for posting this finding. On the other hand, resizable BAR has been part of the PCIe spec for a long time and it already worked on Linux for me with Haswell-EP/Vega (albeit not showing any benefit, but there are some unmerged Mesa patches with regards to SAM that could bring some improvements). Unfortunately, I cannot see these entries on Windows.

Not sure about the one before, but it is fine on 20.11.2. Neat, right?

Videos in 8k runs fine for me on Youtube . Radeon pro w5500.

On another note, gaming performance is perfectly fine, Mafia 2 and Mafia runs better, even though all adrenalin drivers i get less fps compared to the Enterprise 20.Q3 drivers.( other than mafia which runs better using the latest adrenalin).

    Overall very good drivers!

Have a link to a video that doesn't work for you? SDR 8k videos should play just fine and be hardware accelerated. I believe it's 8k HDR videos that have problems.
