Do suggest you use DDU in safe mode and Factory Reset when you go to install the driver.

    It's finally fixed :).

This is an odd one I will see if this too is fixed.

Just had hard freeze while running the SOTTR Benchmark. Not a black screen - the picture froze and there were still some sounds playing... Global Tuning Control of course "HAD" to be reset to Manual... Maybe next driver...

UPDATE: There seems to be some sort of corruption. I removed the SOTTR profile. I cleared the cache. I rebooted. Added the profile. It is saying I've played this already... RIS is missing in the profile...

Have a feeling it will continue to check for a newer driver - even though I've set it to MANUAL.

UPDATE: It checked for an update...

AMD needs to hire someone competent and sober...

Still feels like rushed drivers. When I’ve tried to upgrade over 19.12.1 it caused DP attached display detection loop – had to RDP into it and roll back to get display. Then I used AMD cleanup utility and installed just drivers through device manager. Drivers do something stupid – watching streaming video in chromium based Edge I got blank display with task manager performance I’ve opened on second display showing Copy at 86%. I’ve tried to disable HW acceleration in browser, but still got blank screen.

Back to 19.12.1 and everything is normal with watching streaming movie working and copy sitting at 0%.

Downloaded and installed this driver just last night.. I still experience random crashes, black screens or CTDs.... but mostly on a particular game - BLACK DESERT ONLINE (MMORPG).

Crashes usually almost always happens when during the following:
    1. When switching to Full Screen mode
    2. ALT+Tabbing to other applications (maybe 5/10 times)
    3. Upon return from a 10mins or more AFK (when I use the keyboard, mouse)
Driver works fine in other games:
    1. Assassins Creed Odyssey
    2. Assassins Creed Origins
    3. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
    4. PES 2019
    5. THe Council
    6. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot
    7. MiddleEarth Shadow of War
Based on what I read here https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/amd-radeon-adrenalin-edition-20-1-3-driver-download.html, Black Desert Online (BDO) might be using Vulkan.. or is it just because I'm using Radeon RX 5700 XT (Sapphire Nitro+)? or does this have anything to do with my monitor Asus VG279Q?

All my drivers are updated as of 01/20/2020 (RAID, Chipset)..

I tried disabling the Radeon Sharpening for BDO but these random crashes kept on happening.

Hope they fix the 5700 XT drivers.

Im really wondering whats the deal with amd and their driver team. are they underfunded, understaffed?. ati had bad drivers and amd continues this tradition with great dedication. is it some HR issue like unremovable person who continiously makes bad decisions, or is this software such a pile of unmanagable crap that it should be written from scratch to avoid total meltdown each time with release of new arch? obvious bugs silently removed from known issue list lingering for a year and all we hear is pls report it to us. Is Lisa blind to this? seriously what is their damn problem?

I could be way off, but it seems to be a matter of "sloppy". Example: it keeps checking for updates even though I set it to Manual. This isn't the 1st or the 2nd driver release that does this. How likely is it that this isn't the only oversight? My guess: Quite likely.

I fixed the issue, had to do a factory install. No problems now.

Driver is OK once again, happy smooth gaming. Always install15.11 beta's CCC on top for FRTC support since its dropped from CCC2 for no obvious reason, chill is trash and disables anti-lag.

Anti-lag + frtc is the best combination.

Rtss+freesync and disabling everything else is the best combination.

RTSS is an overrated relic of the past. I do my gaming just fine these days.

Its light, simple and adds no input lag and freesync just makes everything smoother without tearing.

Anti lag has no use if you are not specifically gpu bound.

It's really quite simple. They are prioritizing new features and UI rewrites over stability, bug fixes and testing.

But couldn't it fixed with more persons working at the drivers? Like a team of a few people lets say 2-3 just focusses on bugfixes they'll never be allocated to other work ?
And then other people working on new features and UI changes? Even if they would have to hire new workers i don't see a problem as the drivers getting used by millions of gpus

Btw nice to see that the black screen issues have been fixed i'll try the driver now :D

Hmm, these drivers have greatly reduce input latency in MW 2019. I find myself being able to run and gun more effectively then in prior drivers. And here I though it was connection issues. Also the cache loading is much faster now. Intriguing.

    So far no black screens.
