Do we know if older gpus get any new features? Up until now, they took nothing, except anti-lag.

Performance wise at least there's a couple of gains here and there for Navi and nothing much at all for older GPU models.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/e8qylj/amd_radeon_software_adrenalin_2020_driver_update/

Could differ depending on resolution though as this was 1920x1080 and there's apparently something for Vega but no numbers(?) and mainly on the newer AMD supported games. (But those might have been mostly what was tested against so.)

    And about Boost.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/e8qzp9/radeon_boost_tested_is_amds_new_performance/

EDIT: And the reported average is a bit meh for how that result was gotten but it is how it is, there's gains but it varies from game to game some a bit more and some a bit less so just saying "5%" isn't strictly accurate but eh it's how it is.

EDIT: And for boost it seems to ignore framerate it merely drops 1 - 3 levels depending on setting based on just mouse movement alone.

Hilbert I hope you will do a few benchmarks between the latest older driver and this new one?

Looks like some decent gains with navi cards. I didnt expect further improvements for polaris and vega.

Looks good and glad to see it...what's great about this is that apparently all the features are operational--quite unlike the Adrenalins when Raja shipped them, IIRC. Also, I am reminded of "Radeon Pro" which some of you might remember--but not much--this looks far better with more meaningful/custom options, apparently. Didn't AMD hire the guy who did Radeon Pro? Can't quite recall--that was a long while back--not even sure if that was the name of the software. Anyway, great to see them doing this! Adrenalins were getting a bit long in the tooth, although Wattman didn't bother me at all--had no trouble with it. Trick to Wattman was saving the profile once you set it up like you liked it--that way if the settings in Wattman were lost for any reason restoration was always just a button-click away in "Load the Profile". Positive change is always good, however!

cant wait to try this BOOST setting, all i play is pubg and csgo. i should be able to notice any performance and/or image quality changes. [hopefully not notice image quality changes lol]

I hope they fixed some bugs around Wattman. On Polaris cards, they lost the profile after a suspend-resume-cycle and on Vega I did get absurd high minimum voltage while using a custom profile (900 mV with a 144 Hz display). Otherwise I like it more than MSI Afterburner, as I need the more fine-grained options to get the best undervolt out of my Vega.

I have to remain silent until drivers actuary release.but yes there are gains for older gpus.than navi...how much I cannot say. Wattman is totally different in fact it is no longer called wattman. I have already said something about this.

Ask around is all I will say. People here know.We keep my secret and do not ask more then I can disclose. If I ignore a question most people know why but most do not even ask a question I am bound by a NDA. and I respect the NDA. Respect goes both ways.

Seriously I disclose what I can when I can...and not one moment before. This is the end of the year stuff, y'all do not even know what is involved to keep it all secret and nor will I say...just be patient for the last minute hitch with MS to be worked out. I have not been able to post benchmarks or even beanchmark for a while now. I am only stating this to try and help people understand. And most likly I will get in trouble for this post.

Radeon Boost sounds pretty cool. I know some console games have already done this dynamic res scaling in the past. Would be interested to hear people's opinions of it here after they've tried it out.

    ok fair enough.

Thanks, I wasn't aware about this program. Though I have done fair bit of driver testing before (was once part of AMD GPU driver testing team).

Totally understand you mate. Keep up the good work (and respect the NDA).
We can wait for a few moments more... Anyway would be interesting -- after the drivers drop to hear your internal/initial thoughts about them, maybe some testing results, some observations/tips ?

E.G. I've read that by the end of installation - as a pro user - you shouldn't select any profile - just skip it (if you want to have full control), else it can lead to some settings not saving correctly etc..
