back in the first quarter before gtx4xx come out the sweet spot for heavy gaming was 5850 in crossfire(best value for money/perfomance)...now in last quarter of 2010, 6770 in crossfire will be the beast for less money than other combinations...ATI owned once again...too bad...only six month was the domination for nvidia...haha...

Well rumours are 6770 will be increasing in price from current generation around $200-$300 mark, so £150 maybe way out.

The only bad news here is that I'm reasonable confident the OCs on the 6k series won't get much higher than the 5k ones, despite higher default clocks. Less headroom, I'd expect.

it depends...i think the opposite, they consume less wattage, that means higher room for overvoltage and lower temps i guess...so...if it's unlocked it surely overclocks more than hd5 series...better quality/newer built...40nm both, and more shaders than the previous...we all know, more shaders=more OC handling.;)

That's what im expecting, the 6770 will probably be priced the same as the 5850, while the 6850 will be priced similar to the current pricing of the 5870, with the 6870 around the same as the GTX480 is right now.

Should be fantastic cards, but probably more aimed at existing DX10 cards owners, than present DX11 ones, as i doubt these will offer them anything.

Not sure what to make of that mid-life kicker Nvidia chip, sounds like an April fool, but considering its came out of nowhere, and Fudzilla is as reliable as SemiAccurate i won't take it too serious.

    Doesn't always work that way.

The GTX470/480 consumed much more power, and had far higher temps than the 5850/5870, but still had more headroom for overclocking.

For some reason guru3d chart was cutoff power consumption which makes a big deal in final equation.

Here is ATI 6000 slide. NOT CONFIRMED

So power consumption is shrink to 146W (HD 5850=151W and HD 5870=188W). but core clock raise to 900MHz(Hd5850=725MHz and HD 5870=850MHz).
Means (if specs true) 6770 (still 40nm) get a boost in clock and significant drop in power consumption.
    It simply doesn't make sense.

If those 6770 specs are true, it's time to upgrade my 4890.

Wet dream rumor suggest about 30% performance over gtx480.

    Typical scenario:
    1. spec wet dream rumors
    2. spec unconfirmed rumors
    3. spec confirmed rumors
    4. fake bench chart
    5. unconfirmed bench chart
    6. confirmed Engineer sample bench chart
    7. first reviews (after NDA)
    8. massive reviews
    9. users, forum members home benching results.
    10. your own results (if lucky to have enoug money)

We are on the stage 2. mid range.

Now for the flagship card start again from the scratch.

Why people says "with a bit OC" ><. You can also OC the 5850.

Anyways 6750/70 for my next card depending on prices. Just want to compare them w GTX 460

well we're not saying 6750/6770 OC = 5870, so buy the 67XX, we're just using it as a gauge for performance. we're not saying the 5870 cannot be OCed therefore the 67XX is handsdown better.

If this is true then pricing is going to be insane for the top end cards. AMD have us by the balls.

If this IS true, does it mean the 6870 could theoretically be pushing 5970 performance?

    Do not hold your breath.
Remember how many times has AMD/ATI released a new product range where the mid-sector model has on paper beaten/matched a top-end product? The 4770 vs the 3850 and the 5770 vs the 4850.

uhm, 5770 whips the 4850 and matches or beats 4870

why not, less plus more optimized stream processors means less heat and power consumption.

Im not so sure about 6870 though, if it really uses 1920sp vs old 1600sp on 5870 its gonna be a tough call,.. well its gonna be below or around 200w that's for sure.

yea something like that, if those leaked vantage screens where half legit, its even faster around 5-10%.
