Questions for all! What is the difference between a Radeon 32DDR compared to a Radeon 64DDR running on a AMD 500Mhz Duron with 128mb of PC100? I want to know will there be any detail differences? Since the only difference is memory? Or will the only difference be speed?
Hi, I read your post in the Nvidia forum but since I did not reply as I knew it would start an argument.<P>Other than memmory size difference, there is a different in clock speeds as well. The 32MB version runs at 166MHz, while the 64MB runs at 188MHz<P>------------------<BR>Amir R. In gamin' the 64MB Radeon is better than the 32MB because it helps take the load off your CPU when running a graphic intensive game. That's means smoother game play at higher resolutions. <IMG SRC="http://www.guru3d.com/ubb/biggrin.gif">
It's minimal. The performance difference will be in the fact that it has 32MB memmory, much more so than it's 20MHz less clock speed.<P>If you have the dough to go for the Radeon 64MB DDR, then do so. That's not to say the 32MB version is anything to shake a stick at.<P>------------------<BR>Amir R. I am getting the 64DDR for less then the 32DDR. I got it for $100.00 less than than it cost at the store. I hope it is as good as everyone say's it is. And yes it is the Retail version.
Congrats<P>------------------<BR>Amir R. Pakdel - Assistant Editor<P> <A HREF="mailto:apakdel@guru3d.com">apakdel@guru3d.com</A> <BR><A HREF="http://www.Guru3D.com" TARGET=_blank>www.Guru3D.com</A>
thing is, unless you are running on a 21" screen and rendering some graphics at the same time, 32ddr will be pretty much the same as 64, however, get the 64 cheaper leads one to suggest 'go for it!!'<BR>as to the duron 500, i thought they started at 600.. dunno man!
Oopsie! I was wrong! well it was free it is a K6 or K7 something like that. Guess what I got the ATI Radeon 64 DDR. I put it in and.........CRASH my computer crashed. now I cant re-install windows or nothing I did something wrong when installing the drivers. I tried to go into safe mode to erase the windows PCI drivers I installed by mistake and the computer reset over and over. I formatted, portioned, Debugged everything. When I try to install windows it say windows needs 1593905mb to install. I have two hard drives in my computer one 6gb and one 8gb. Both are blank. I tried installing windows 98, 98SE ,Me and 2000!!! does anyone know what could be wrong?? HELP ME PLEASE!
Uh oh. This isn's good news. You have a AMD K6-2 500 I presume? It's a Super Socket 7...<P>I'm gonna send ya to <A HREF="http://www.rage3d.com" TARGET=_blank>www.rage3d.com</A> <P>Rage3D is a site for ATI freaks and if anyone knows the answer to your problem it would be the people on their forums.
Well It looks like the driver disk might have had a virus or something because when I do a scan disk I get some kind of strange error the everything starts looking funny. I took out that hard drive and the other one starts to setup then gets stuck when making a boot disk. I noticed a cable going to the CPU is has been ripped so I need to look at it and see what it is going if it is just the fan. I'm not sure if it is a super socket 7 because it was given to me. Well... it was traded to be for a E-machine. My wife must have done it. she said I was spending to much time on the computer! Just kidding! I'll check out that website Thanks
Go for the 32 MB Raedon, the OEM on <A HREF="http://www.pricewatch.com" TARGET=_blank>www.pricewatch.com</A> is only 86 dollars or so thats 40 less than the lowest 64MB, but if u got the cash to spare go get the 64MB card. Lol at your processor speed neither will last forever (forever is under 2 years lol <IMG SRC="smileys/sticktongue.gif">)
