    looks like the geforce was still beating the 8500 in all of the benchmarks

  4. Note I am calling the Radeon 8500 the Radeon 2 for easier writing. We all know that that the Radeon 2 is the 8500.<br>
    <br>
    Go to the Rage3d forums and check out the Radeon 8500/7500 discussion. First I read Tom's review and was somewhat pleased. Then I went to rage's forums to look at the views there. They expressed that it seems like Anandtech is NVIDIA biased as the GF3 creamed the Radeon 8500, but with Tom's, the Radeon 2 minorly beat the GF3. After going to rage3d forum, (unfortunately) I became anti-Anandtech. It did show that the GF3 beat out the Radeon 2, but it seemed by TOO-MUCH of a margin. At this point, I am confused. So much for honesty. I can't tell who is fake and who is truthful. I guess when the final product is released, then the truth be told.<br>
    <br>
    But one thing is in common: EVERYBODY is bashing the drivers. Some people are saying that the drivers are the key; some are saying that they won't make that big a deal. My question is: ARE the drivers really that bad, or are people not impressed with the performance and are blaming the drivers?<br>
    <br>
    Overall, I am impressed with the card. Truform looks cool [but I heard that developers won't implement it, which will make it an unused feature (worthless)]. Smartshader looks cool [beats out GF3's 1.0-1.3 shaders]. Smoothvision looks benefitial [multisampling FSAA--hope not much of a performance hit!]. HyperZ II [improve on HyperZ I]. 400MHZ RAMDAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br>
    <br>
    It seems like ATI improved on the 16-bit (which disappoints me) and deconcentrated on 32-bit. I thought the Radeon was supposed to be great 32-bit and Radeon 2 greater 32-bit. At 1600x1200 16-bit Radeon 2 beats the GF3, at 1078x768 32 and up, the GF3 beats the Radeon 2---that's not supposed to happen.<br>
    <br>
    Also, with the release of the Detenator 4's, it is very sneaky of NVIDIA to steal the gusto from ATI. But if I were NVIDIA, I would be sneaky too to remain leader. At this point I have mixed feelings and am uncertain in certain areas. But hoepfully the final product will "tell the tale."

    Well i was very pleased with Tom's hardware guide's review. Well Anandtech was written poorly "little $$$ under the table". Well i would like to that 16x FSAA it has in a review. Well the Radeon 8500 in Counter Strike looked better then the Geforce 3. The models looked better and more smooth showing TRUFORM works very well. <br>
    <br>
    Well i'm the orginal Anti-Anandtech guy.

    Also the drivers where beta too. Well the offical drivers should give proformace boosts.<br>
    <br>
    The R300 is made by the ARTx team makers of the gamecube's flipper chip.

    the benchmarks didnt use the detonator 4 drivers for the gf3

  9. That good. It gives a NOW perspective as to if the card was released now. Anandtech site plus the 20.80 drivers I think bias the performance of the card. That may be the actually performance of the card; it may be better, we won't know until it is officially RELEASED.

    I agree. The drivers usually dont make the video card. I really hope that Radeon 2 is a LOT better then what they mad it sound like! <br>

  11. Some guys over at rage forums ask to prove if the drivers were/are the problem, but it is just verbal talk. SURE different driver versions produce different results; but the question is: do the drivers "suck"? Is the development team really THAT bad? If so, can YOU prove it? <br>
    <br>
    HOW can you prove it?...By allowing NVIDIA to produce the same drivers and then compare? THAT won't happen unless NVIDIA hacks them or ATI allows it.....<br>
    <br>
    "do the drivers "suck"? Is the development driver team really THAT bad? If so, can YOU PROVE it?"<br>
    These questions have not been answered and if they can be with valid proof (not by YES or NO), then I'll compromise and understand. <br>
    <br>
    For the development team question, I doubt a valid answer is by walking in to the R&D (research & development) center and point out people....(ie. he's bad...he's good...he sucks...)<br>
    <br>
    I WANT ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!<br>
    <br>
    P.S&gt; Let's do that Few Good Men clip. Next post is Jack Nicholson's. saying. Then I'll post Tom's quote until we get to the end at the "You can't handle the truth."

    Well its the drivers. 7 features are disabled "i believe 1 of the hyperZ is disabled too". Right now its all raw power.

  13. RCF, you supposed to say "You want answers..." Like in the movie. <IMG SRC="smileys/frown.gif">

    what gun do i get to use ???

  15. All most all the previews the OS is win2k and we all know how bad the ATI drivers is for win2k. That maybe explaine why the geforce 3 wins. And remember is only a preview alot could happen

  16. It probably because people b*tch about good win2K drivers. I've seen it at GF forums. "Oh...why can't (NVIDIA/ATI/any video card company make good Win2K drivers....

    hehe, Windows XP is Win 2k with more features. Well NT is coming to end up replacing win9x. Well NT has a long life span left.

  18. Come on RCF. Let's do the quote (unless you didn't see the movie).<br>
    <br>
    <br>
    I WANT ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!!

  19. The Kyro II's win2k drivers has similar performance as win98 and winME. So you can't say "why can't any company make good win2k drivers"

  20. I'm saying that that is what I am hearing in GF forums.<br>
    <br>
    <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:<HR> All most all the previews the OS is win2k and we all know how bad the ATI drivers is for win2k. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE><br>
    You saying that the ATI Win2k drivers suck.<br>
    <br>
    I am saying that I have heard people complain that the Win2K drivers suck for particular video cards. I am challenging them to PROVE IT!!!!!!!!<br>
    <br>
    Prove that they suck. Prove that it is the drivers solely. Or prove that it is the developers. Just prove it and I'll believe it.
