Very odd sounding issue, never come across this unless something like overclock artifacting or using a faulty cable/card.

Can you show a couple of photos of what that looks like?
Can you show us a screenshot of your custom resolution settings you're trying to set? Maybe we can assist you.

I can set custom resolutions and they set instantly matching res with timings eg 2560x1080, unlike my old 1080 which requires a restart to accept, setting the screen values/timings is very similar for both NV and AMD control panels.

Am I the only one that has higher idle temps on 6800XT with those drivers? 29-32c with 21.11.3, now it hovers around 44-45c, although it downclocks properly.

Impossible unless we talk about thermal sensor issues.

Drivers do not effect the idle temps unless memory clock is stuck again. That would explain the rise.

Memory downclocks to 192Mhz, but the power usage is slightly higher (17-30W) then previous drivers. Installed and reinstalled several times also using DDU, same results, downgrading to 21.11.3 fixes it. Load temps are fine.

Yep, I'm seeing my mclk stuck at around 2000, giving me a higher than normal 45deg idle temp with this driver. Sent in a bug report.

mclk at 192mhz no problems with my main 27" CHG70 and secondary 65" Q80T.

Unplug the secondary it's down clocks correctly, the usual that keep popping up in random drivers and never notice it

Using Displayport for both but secondary monitor it using Dp to DVI adaptor. Misses took the flashy 4k secondary so now relegated to an old backup.

    Hi,
I have a weird problem with the Radeon Software crashes. It happens randomly. BUT, no signs of a crash, only the reliability monitor shows the problem (no black screen or freeze). Sometimes it crashes when scrolling through tabs in the Radeon software. I've missed that time window when it all started. A clean install is not helping, checked my RAM, it's ok. What is this problem about?! I have a slight undervolt - RX5700 (950 voltage, and my own fan curve). All I know, that it was always rock stable with these settings. Also, I'm passing 3d mark stress test, and Overwatch with 200 fps is also good, without any errors or hangups.

You might have to tweak your voltages again more back to stock, I had to with Battlefield 2042 and Blender 3.0, just don't like much of a under or over volt with my card.

Everything else was happy with my heavy undervolt/overclock till now.

You can try to delete the AMD CN folder and see if it fixes the issue

I am using DDU almost always. Probably somemadcaaant is right, tho, no visible gaming problems, or blue screens from this error.

Advanced synchronization still can't be set per game profile in Vulkan?

Nope. It happens with the original driver too. In fact, I reported on this issue long before the modded driver was even released. There's one other member who confirmed the issue on a VEGA GPU. It seems that it's RDNA GPUs that are unaffected by this.

It's not surprising that the modded driver exhibits the same issue as the stock driver. After all, it's based on the stock driver, so it inherently has the same issues as the stock driver.

I don't understand the mentality of some of the forum members. Whenever anyone posts an issue regarding the driver, there's an attempt to discredit the issue. Can anyone care to explain to me why do some of you have this attitude?

The same few members seem to like each and every post that says "Perfect driver, no issues, good job AMD" and try their damndest to discredit any and all issues reported. There's actually one particular member who is on record saying he doesn't even use these drivers, but uses AMD's PRO drivers instead. So.. how can this person relate to the experiences shared using a different driver or how is the feedback from this thread even relevant to him is beyond me.

Sure, there maybe instances where the issue happens because of the user having done something wrong, but 8 out of 10 cases, when people here are sharing their experience with issues they've encountered, it's likely the driver; some of us have been using computers for decades now, well enough to know the difference from bad drivers from a failing hardware or some sort of misconfiguration on the user's end. But whenever someone posts an issue, the response from these members is the same: "You're doing it wrong" or worse: "You're a troll."

When is this going to change?

CB2077 is a nvidia sponsor, old game (now) that has been a buggy mess since it's inception. I can't take you seriously that you think it's amd driver problem. If you are that much into the game you are better off playing it based on it's sponsorship.

I never bought that game for that reason.

    i agree
it's nvidia paying cdpr to break the game for otherwise perfect amd drivers.
    makes sense.

its not a fully nvidia sponsored game as it also contains AMD FidelityFX CAS static and dynamic resolution scaling along with DLSS. If it was sponsored either way it would only have one of them. FSR is apparently coming soon too and they are removing CAS altogether.
