These drivers have been pretty solid on the second install.. no standout issues over the few weeks of using them.

    Good to read that

Just a question - what do you mean by "second install"?

My first install had a driver crash after installing them when I clicked the windows start button which I have never seen happen before... I had gone back to a previous driver but then Halo Infinite released and I installed these again because they were the newest, second install has been good.

With you having a different card it might act differently.. No harm trying?.. see how it performs for your system, well if you aren't already that is :>

    *edit*

Ohh I just remembered this one didn't crash with the start button, this driver originally made Halo Infinite hard system lock when I went to play the multiplayer beta... I can't remember what driver I was using for the start button click induced driver crash.

    That might be it :)

I was using Pro Beta for Blender 3.0 before (same 21.40 branch) but I never used Beta driver for Halo.

As I wrote previously, this branch seems to be very promissing

I'm getting something similar even under 20.10.2 whql on a rx480. Highest gpu clock stuck when idle after exiting something I haven't yet figured, but vram goes back to 300MHz.
What a nice CGN 1.0 uvd bug-like flashback.

You can fix by end process called upload_2022-1-2_4-29-50.png don't ask me why but works... after o close any game a end the process and gpu get "unstuck"

the source of this process is the exe called AMDRSServ he is responsible for screen capture "record and stream" if you don't use it just rename and close the process he don't came back again.

FYI the exe called AMDRSSrcExt is responsavel for the AMD overlay the ALT+R if you don't use it you can rename it too...

AMD planning three drivers this month,
22.1.1 this week, 22.1.2 next week (God of War launch) and Radeon Super Resolution driver 22.1.3 end of the month

These drivers are so good I don't want to risk switching them out for new ones RSR or not.

Maybe in the future. Amd would be crazy not to support vega and polaris. Many people still uses them.

Upscaling is never the same quality as native.

No, it's similar to nVidia NIS.
And no, it's only for RDNA1 and up.

AMD has had the Nvidia equivalent of DSR for close to a decade now. It's called VSR (virtual super resolution) and you can downscale 4K to your native 1080p monitor resolution for example.

We're talking about upscaling here. So FSR/RSR is equivalent to Nvidia's NIS (Nvidia Image Scaling)
