Don't get your hopes up, as I've said in other forums, issue is random and may not happen in hours of gaming.

Once you get no more black screens in a couple days time, then you're good. :)

I've been fine for 2-3 hours, even whole evening, then crash next day. :bang:

Oh I know it's very frustrating, I have ran heaven bench mark for 12hours no problems then 20mins of a game bank hardcrash black screen audio loop.

But my system seems back to normal smoothness I had with the 680 now my ram isn't in duel channel which is strange clearly there was a conflict. We will see :)

The black screen problem will be taken care of with future driver updates.. Maybe the cards with elpida memory needs to have a new bios. Ram timings might be to tight... Just give it afew weeks... it'll be fine... Thats all we can really do... Im not going to RMA my card and sit and wait for more cards to come.. lol just keep doing what im doing... I had the black screens at stock and overclocked.. They havnt happend in awhile. BF4 just keeps chuggin away.. at least im getting 80~150fps on ultra :)

Might be time for a RMA or another option.

Well these 2 gpus do put more pressure on your mobo vs old 6970, i think you will have to adjust PCH and PHC VLX voltage a bit, both raise for 1 seep from default and System Agent Vcssa +0.010 or 0.020v - its also for cpu's internal I/O pcie communication and sometimes its needed by SLI/xfire systems.

If you dont want to fiddle in Uefi, then try this; remove that pci Xfi SB. If it stopped you have your source, I remember this high pitch sound freeze or loops on my old X48 system once I bought this pcie Xfi HD SB it stopped and I could OC higher

edit: ah, I see you already have pcie..

Got the same issue on my laptop, it happens during gameplay.

I had it before, my overclock was causing it, but it has been running stock ever since. :(

well this monitor timeout is usually driver reset bug aka TDR.

I had that once waaay back with 274,34? modded quadro driver in Rift, monitor signal lost and after that it TDR'd, another moment later red screen of death, in Dirt3 it Green screen of death then TDR'd.. 274 or 275.2x driver was very interesting lol got me a big freakout - I just got this 570GTX back then was 1 week old..

Edit: I just thought of something, any of you use different windows powerplans when you game or stick with balanced powerplan? Also does CCC have a prefer max perf. option like by nvidia per game profile?

And try to reinstall the driver, sometimes it can get corrupted by those TDRs, also install as administrator.

Still nothing from AMD or Sapphire :(

Seems pointless to RMA, cant use card. Getting a bit annoyed now.

I'm sending mine back and asking for a refund. People telling me to wait for drivers and oh drivers will fix it, that's not good enough for the money this card cost.

If it was one or too games crashing bad performance sure I'd put it down to drivers and wait it out but it even hard crashes on the final fantasy benchmark after 5mins this morning.

Sadly i'm told i cant get a refund because i redeemed my BF4 key. Otherwise id have bought a TI instead.

My only option is to RMA, and i really dont think they are going to find any issues...

Here they can ask for repackaging costs and costs of missing parts of original package. Therefore they may ask you full market price of BF4 even while you got it in bundle for 25$ only.

Probably something nvidia. custom 780 are going fairly cheap now. Sad to say 1 AMD card in 10 years has been enough for me. Maybe I'll try again in another 10 years :/

I couldnt justify spending £600 plus on a 780ti + block when there's something that performs pretty near to it and is a fair bit cheaper.

that said if the 290 doesnt play ball i'll wait till Maxwell..(and be done with AMD gpu's for a looong time).

p.s good luck with your next card. still am sure there's loads of people happy now on bf4 that wont end up under your sights...

if u lived nr me i'd lend u my 580....
