I was getting some corruption in the Battlefield 4 campaign during the latter part of the South China Sea mission. Fortunately I have a few other Radeon cards that I know are solid and they all displayed the same rendering errors otherwise I would have sent the card back only to get another displaying the same 'problem'. For the moment I'm back to using a Asus GTX 670 Top just to get my fun from battlefield then the 280X is going back in because it's faster with Sleeping Dogs. :hatty:

Here look someone else is having the same problem (1:24 into the video). Kinda weird Radeon folk aren't noticing it because I've heard nothing about it at all. :3eyes:

    I got the following GPU's:
MSI R9 280x Gaming - got the new vBios 015.039.XXXXXXXXXXXX
    ASUS DirectCU II TOP R9 280x - 015.039.XXXXXXXXXXX
    GIGABYTE R9 280x Windforce OC version - think it's 015.38.XXXXXXXXXX

The MSI won't show up properly, so don't know about that one yet, but the ASUS I can seemingly only undervolt, though I can get it to 1200Mhz without crashes.
The Gigabyte I didn't check the voltages, but I got it to 1250Mhz without crashes...
I should install some of the OC applications, like the one specific from MSI for example, but haven't tried that yet.
So far only used CGMiner to set the clock speeds and voltage.

i got a sapphire r9 280x oc dual and a xfx r9 280x dd in crossfire, was playing about with afterburner last night and got 1150 and 1700 without and change to voltage, not sure if this any good as still new to OC'ing GPU's so any advice or pointers would be great :help:

McNab, that's pretty awesome for someone overclocking for their 1st time. Let us know your temps on the oc. Meaning the temps when running idle and in gaming. It will give us and you an idea of how long the card will last with high overclocks.

Here I was, a few weeks ago, building my new rig with an Asus 280x DC2T, only to find out that one of the VRAMs was faulty (lower clock/voltage did nothing, experienced it in pretty much every game - as well as in valley/3dmark benches). While the issue got confirmed through RMA quickly, I'm still waiting for that replacement card... how I curse those damned coin miners *sigh*

I've got the Gigabyte 280x version (in Crossfire) and I'm looking to get some 3rd party cooling. I would like to move to a watercooling solution using parts from www.dazmode.com (since it's Canadian... though if someone has another solution please let me know), but would settle for something with air. The main reason I want to do this is because they sound like a bloody jet engine. They are so ridiculously loud I can pretty much hear them in another room down the hall.

So my question to you guys is would a simple waterblock & heatsinks on the ram suffice? Or should I go for something different? On that same note, what even fits on this card? I'd like to order parts tomorrow if at all possible (yay payday!).

Once I have a better & more quiet cooling solution then I will overclock them :D

So what clocks/mem and volts is everyone getting on their MSI 280x's?

Kombuster reached the dizzy heights of 92C @ 1150mhz, any higher and it artifacts fan @ 90%

I tend not to push my cards too hard because I like them to last more than a few years. :p

My 280X is still at 1100 core 1500 memory. The voltage under load is about 1.17 - 1.18.

The highest I've seen the vrm temp go is 77C playing Sleeping Dogs with the AA set to extreme. Every other game runs the card at least 10c lower and that includes all the high-end games like Crysis 3, Battlefield 4 and Metro: Last Light. Quite Why Sleepy Doggies pushes the card so hard I have no idea. Sure it uses super sampling at the extreme level but I've used super sampling with various games with little impact on temps. :eek:c:

My MSI R9 280X is currently at

    85% FAN
    +100MV VOLTS
    +20 POWER
    1140- CORE
    1650- MEMORY

Needs at least 1.3v to get it this high though

Well on default temp on full load: 47-50 *C max!
And on the screen i OC to 1160, and it´s 58-50*C And no screen freezh, if i go higher on OC, it does freezh! and it gets over 53*C.

    1060, and 1100 is fine.
And memo i run 6400, instead of 6000.

48-50 is normal temp for this card? i made a post but non had responed :/

And btw what Brand and model big ROBOT bill:)? and what fan speed and temp on full load could be nice. So i can compare and see maybe i did something wrong :) because on 1160 i get some flickering. maybe i need a bigger PSU? Or my old 1000w is getting too old. And need a replacement :)?

    Got mine at:

    1150
    1600
    21+ Power
    31+ Voltage

    Getting around 75c on Bf4.

Anything higher than that i seem to get artifacts but im just going off msi AB settings as im a bit of a noob (need to do a ton more research)

Just got my 280x back from RMA, hopefully they fixed the artifacting issue (testing now).
