Well it better be for such a long wait and the fact the GTX is single slot and this is dual is my point.
Yea i agree that they have to make money from something. But if the price were like in the 100-150s range, im sure there would be a whole lot more people buying these things. Im not going to buy a $600 dollar chunk of metal and plastic when the actual cost to make it probably around $70.
well said!!! Why do they need to charge so much for a high end GPU? Why? Since they are produced in masses, their price shouldnt be high... but the ones who manufacture them dont see that
This discussion is going nowhere - why not go on and ask why highest-end CPUs are sold at $1000+?... Same thing, really...
high end gpus are not produced in mass. They make up a tiny percentage of the overall market. That is why they cost so much. They know people will pay it and so they can charge what they want.
Its kinda like buying a Porche compared to mass produced VW... Me my self own an Audi but I have a kick a$$ GPU and Im happy to pay the money....
WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THIS?? Everyone said that about the X800 XT. The 6800 Ultra. The 7800 GTX. Jesus... they aren't going to price a gaming card above $1000. The only reason why the 7800 GTX is more expensive than the top card usually is is because there is no competition.
