This could mean anything, from a secure variant of Windows 10, to Andromeda OS which is just a modular iteration of Windows 10 and something we've known about for a while. I saw a bunch of headlines about this.. I think tech sites reach too far sometimes with trying to generate headlines.
I wouldn't read too much into it either. This crap has been going on since 2012 with their innovative garbage like WinRT. Maybe next gen just means there is no RS6 but RG1
Looks like another 'big brother' backed project to me, and with full biometric authentication your government will have positive ID on you anywhere on the net. Combine this with positive location via your cell phone and car GPS systems, and anytime audio monitoring via your smart TV, amazon fire/alexa, or your cell phone... So much for privacy. No government, especially one with a corrupt FBI/DOJ as we've been learning as of late, should ever have this much power. George Orwell got it wrong through. He predicted it would be imposed on people, but instead we're ignorantly imposing it upon ourselves willingly.
Windows 10 is such a mess. Aims at everything, get nothing done. At least windows 7 works for desktops, cant say that about bloat 10. So yes, how this article related to bashing win10 again?
"I am sorry Dave, I am afraid I can't log you in." "What's the problem, HAL?" "Your poop smell funny today, Dave."
Using Win10 5 days a week at work. I can confirm Windows 10 is a trash OS. Wish I had Windows 7 for work PC.
Wrong! ....I have both and win7 always works....anything... Win10 always doing something stupid/ Update my a** .... I could care less about DX12.
same experience here....Windows 10 is windows with monitoring software... I'm fine with Google monitoring me....Just not my OS. Microsoft will eventually be sued Big for Windows 10 .....Watch!/ while they're watching you.
I use 10 and think it's trash too, 7 was the last proper Windows OS, I have settled for LTSB 2016 as it is the least crappy version of 10, but in general yes, 10 is trash It's a buggy, hacked together ad spewing server / spyware / data collection OS with a tacky UI of which the UWP/XAML side is just a joke, the only reason I run it over 7 is because 7 is looking and feeling old and MS broke WU on 7 and also added a load of telemetry to it too, least with LTSB you can more or less turn it off There was a time when I would defend MS to the ends of the earth too, but I woke up from my "everything they do is magical" trance once Win 8 arrived lol I have no love for MS any more
Old memory Flashbacks...... Damn Windows XP was good times... I remember purchasing Ram(first time learning) so I could upgrade from Windows 98 to XP....XP was awesome fast! Good old Days.
@airbud7 : Linux at work, linux at home dev. systems. Windows 10 for general things where I can live if I have little downtime during reinstall or recovery. DX12 is important part of that OS, anything else W10 does above W7 is not exactly needed. Nor it is nice-to-have feature.
I do not think that any of you here criticizing Microsoft have the knowledge or the average degree of their employees. Keep bashing what you can't reach. Windows 10 is by far, a ten-year step forward from Windows 7. Admit you are unskilled even to use a new proper OS.
please explain further....I use Cad/Photoshop and see zero advantage in 10? it's actually worse. Grrrrr, stop moving my buttons around! ......J/K .....
This^^^ W10 is going to be replaced by something else like everything else but i think it´s going to stay for a while.
Usual response from a pro MS member, if you don't like it it's because you either 1. Can't accept change or 2. Don't have the intelligence to learn how to use it They never have a proper argument, it's almost as if you are insulting one of their own family members when you don't like the OS I wouldn't bother getting into it with them personally
@airbud7 XP was cool for its time. But absolute trash compared to 7 or 10. At 7 they actually got to the point where you could use the system for years without it becoming a total mess. With solid improvements to security as well. And 10 is even better. As long as you disable auto updates and a few other things after installing it. And that search bar is a godsend. You can almost instantly find a file or a specific menu option without ever going through folders or menus. Of course, it would be much better if the options to disable certain things weren't "hidden" in group policy editor or registry.
