Does anyone know if the socket 478 Pentium 4 3.4Ghz Extreme Edition has an unlockable multiplier???
If it's an EE one then yeah it should have I think. Confirmation guys?
im not sure either google it
After some google'ing i came across a couple of mixed results.
Yes it is.
Although, that said i wouldnt bank on it.
EDIT: Sod it, itll be great and i really hope you'll enjoy it
Can you get it for free or something?
The Extreme editions always have an unlocked multiplier, right?
@aircool: 4.3Ghz already, hmmz? I bet you can hit 4.5 stable
I was sure on that too, but to be honest, its still a hell of a cpu.
I take it Deadman that the board doesnt like high FSB's too much? (or ram limit :/)
@Vulture: 4.3Ghz is nice, no bottleneck (Yes i will push much further on tuesday ).
Sorry for being OT.
I'm getting the CPU for $40 + a software trade from an old friend. Which is lucky or else I would be down on my main rig for a long time, being divorced with children is expensive...lol
I just wondered about the multiplier because I want to run my RAM at full speed, but don't want to overclock another CPU to death, literallly.
