don't know what the budget is , but i think a 9700k would be a nice upgrade
and from what i've just checked , they're really cheap at the moment
    i myself have a 8700k and haven't thought about upgrading ,
every benchmark i've seen the 8700k is the better choice , even over i9 to i10
there hasn't been a reason To upgrade , cause games don't use more then 6 cores
but the 9700k is cheaper then a 8700k now , and they run about the same fps
i like the 8700k more because it has double threads , like processors should have

I was going to make it a final CPU upgrade. And then concentrate on my GPU next. Which is a GTX 1070.
I could get an i9 9900k for about 330 quid atm. ( I'm counting on it not really getting cheaper. )
    But hopefully it does obviously.
I'm asking if I should wait?

I'd just get a 9700k like ThermaL said and get a better graphics card.

Is it true that the i5 9400f is practically the same as the i5 9600k but without being unlocked?

Also the Intel Core i7-9700T sounds quite good being at 35w.
