So as the title states I finally went with an i7 6700K to replace my ancient i7 950. I also threw in one of those 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M2 cards for some serious speed. Can't wait to get this upgrade rolling

Cheers guys, nearly finished putting my loop back together (had to get another gpu bridge for my water blocks as there's another slot on this :( ). I'll stick some shots up once it's ready to go.

Nice cable management - very tidy (and colour co-ordinated).

You (re-)built that water loop fast too!

Let us know how it compares to your old system.

Thanks, you won't believe the wonders of having quick connects on the GPU's. It's a life saver as i can easily remove them without having to drain the loop which allowed me to get this back up and running quite quickly compared to from scratch.

Also from what little gaming I've done on Black Desert the whole thing feels so much smoother in the busy cites than before. It's no longer dropping badly when lots of other players are about etc.. Also I'm sure this is much better for my 980Ti's than my previous CPU. That being said it's still decent enough and I might just end up putting it back together in an old case for a little secondary system.

Just did a quick Crystal Mark of the Samsung 950 Pro and the speeds are crazy, I highly recommend this to anyone :nerd:

Very nice colour scheme and the cable management is simply sublime.

However, maybe its time to clean those rads :p The dust build up on that rad at the rear is pretty thick.

Lol I know right, I was waiting for someone to.mention the dust :p. I might take the fans off and give it a clean this weekend if I'm not playing BDO or Over watch.

Very nice setup. Hopefully it would last you just as long or longer as your i7 950 did as far as performance goes.

Dude! WTF! Your SLI cable is brown...

But seriously, nicely done. I too upgraded this month from a C2Q Q6600/6GB of ram to an i7 6700 with 16GB of ram and an SSD...
    Blew my face right off.
